"So besides us seven, who's left?" Katniss asked.
"Cashmere and Brutus got away." Juniper said. She realized Lennox tense up at the mention of Brutus.
"Chaff maybe?" Peeta added.
"I think the guy from 10 is still alive, what's his name?" Finnick wondered.
"Angus." Juniper wrote in the sand with her finger, distracting herself from the thoughts in her head.
"There's still eleven of us left in the arena, that's a bit much considering everything." Johanna said. Everyone had agreed. With disasters striking every single hour, the jungle wasn't safe at all. The seven of the had claimed the beach. And after what happened at the cornucopia, nobody wanted to be back there.
"I doubt Brutus and Cashmere will attack us again." Finnick said. Juniper looked up at him, he was standing right behind her, leaning his arm against a tree. "They know they're outnumbered. We're safe here on the beach."
"So, what. Do we hunt them down?" Johanna asked. "That's not smart at all."
"Finnick is right, we are safest here on the beach. I think we stay here until we figure out a plan."
"We also lost sight of the lightning tree. The game makers spun that thing on purpose, we figured out their game." Juniper said, everyone had just realized what that had meant for them. "We have to wait till midnight to know where it is."
"Katniss, do you have the spile?" Juniper asked after a moment of silence. Katniss nodded, taking it off her belt and handing it to her.
Juniper went to a tree close by and started drilling a hole, yet, there was somebody behind her who was quite literally drilling holes into the back of her head with their stare.
"I think you're doing it wrong." Finnick said, trying to throw her off.
"I think I didn't ask."
"You suck at this." Finnick pestered her again.
"I hate you."
"No you don't."
"Can you please be quiet?" Juniper turned to face him. He had a smirk plastered on his face. "I can't even hear myself losing my will to live."
With that, screaming started. Juniper and Finnick looked to one another when they heard a girl screaming.
"Prim!" Katniss screamed, running into the jungle. Finnick went back to the group to grab his trident, but Juniper ran right after to her.
"Katniss!" Juniper screamed after her. Katniss was fast as hell, Juniper could give her that. She was barely able to catch up to her until she stopped in a grassy clearing.
