Chapter 26

"Aah, (Y/N)!" Knuckle smiled to her and walked over to her and the King of the Chimera Ants were stood beside her, wearing the black shirt and trousers, hands in his pockets. "And... Meruem?" The King only nodded at the fact he was correct. "The Hunter Assoiciation are ready to see you and your limitations. After all, you all need some form of money, so we have been seeing them into letting you guys into Heavens Arena." Knuckle explained as they went inside of the elevator to the top floor.

"Heavens Arena?" Meruem asked, now confused.

"Oh! Heavens Arena is where you fight to be the very best. You get paid loads and the higher you get, the more you get. You'll get paid up until the 199th floor, and then on floor 200 you have to fight ten battles, payment stops and if you win you get to fight a floor master for their penthouse, but I think up until 199th floor will do." (Y/N) explained to Meruem as he took all this information in.

"So, we need money basically to survive?"

"Yes. Everybody does."

"Sounds harsh."

"It is, but at the same time, with a Hunter's License things become easier for you." Knuckle took out his license and shown the King what they looked like. "(Y/N) has one too!"

"You do?"

"Yeah. Kurapika has it though, since I asked him to keep hold of it for me while I go on that adventure with Gon and Killua."

"I see." Meruem hummed and the doors of the elevator opened and there sat the top Hunters... Including Ging Freeces. Knuckle waved them off before leaving since this meeting is not his business. (Y/N) walked to the table nervously and sat down on one of the seats. Meruem sat next to her, staring at the higher-up Hunters, unfazed by their looks or abilities. After all, he defeated Netero who was the previous Chairman.

"Aah, (Y/N). Meruem." One the male Hunters spoke with a small smile, his hands clasped together. "Thank you for coming on such short-notice, but we wanted to give you some news on what is happening right now, and what to expect for the near future."

"Oh, okay." (Y/N) nodded to him. "Is it bad."

"Not at all! It's good news for your Chimera Ant friends."

"Oh!?"

"You see..." One of the females spoke. "We have been discussing things lately about what to do with you all, and killing you wouldn't be right. Therefore, we have decided to let you all go to the Republic of Padokea to Heavens Arean. You see, we want to test if you guys will be fit to live amongst us humans."

"Some Chimera Ants already do, but we figured to give you all chance since you were all technically... Misguided."

"Hmm?" Meruem crossed his arms, raising an eye at him. "And what will happen if we do wrong?"

"Then, you'll all be brought back here where further discussion will be held, and you will be forced to stay in that house for the next four years with our supervision."

"So this is our one and only chance to redeem us of our sins?"

"You are correct, Meruem." The male stood up and walked to the Chimera Ant King and placed his hand on his shoulder, making him growl under his breath, but only moved to look at him. "You will be sent there next Saturday evening. Komugi will go with you all too and watch from the crowd. You, (Y/N), Youpi, Pouf and Pitou will all be participating."

"Thank you so much for giving them this opportunity." (Y/N) smiled happily and looked at Meruem. "If they decide to let you go, I gotta show you all the best places I know!" The King tilted his head and nodded a little, not really knowing what to say now.

"I have a question." He then spoke up.

"What is it?"

"If you deem us worthy of leaving, will we still be wearing these bands?"

"No because we'll know if you all cause troubles." The male Hunter spoke. "You are dismissed. One of us will pick you all up at Saturday, 4pm for the leave to Heavens Arena. Be ready."

Later that night, (Y/N) was sitting in her nightwear while Meruem sat next to her in his black vest. They were getting ready to sleep for the night.

"How did you enjoy that hot dog earlier?" (Y/N) asked, wondering if he enjoyed it.

"It was alright. Still adapting to the... Human foods you have." Meruem spoke honestly and got comfy mainly due to his tail sometimes being a pain.

"That's good. Don't want you starving on me." She chuckled and got comfy in the bed, and turned away from him. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight." He laid down as well, facing her back and pulled her close to his chest, making her yelp a little. "It's cold."

"That's fine..." She mummbled and hugged his arm and pretty much fell asleep instantly.

Pouf was sat in his room, looking at the night skies and saw the stars. He hummed and made sure to keep quiet while he held his violin.

Youpi was a snoring mess in his room. The bed covers were all over the place and he snored like he hasn't slept in decades.

Pitou was curled up on her bed, using the pillows to rest her back against her bed cover covered her legs and half her back. Her head rested in her arms as she slept.

Komugi was still awake, cleaning up the Gungi board since it could use some refreshments.

Meruem stayed awake and just held (Y/N)'s hand in his own as he started to think of what has happened this last year. He was born maturely, as in born an adult. He was immediately destined for greatness and to rule. He met (Y/N) and Komugi and learned the way and became a pretty 'good' leader. He fought Netero and died, but got ressurected. He then died again to poison and got ressurected. He was the held in this place for months, and now... He could be free with his family in the open world and maybe live a different life that doesn't involve people constantly hating him. He'll do his hardest to succeed in Heavens Arena and prove how he can be good and not ruin their lives like he already did once.
