"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise knows himself to be a fool"

THIRD PERSON POV

The sun had now begun to shine weakly on Hogwarts again. Inside the castle, the mood had grown more hopeful. There had been no more attacks since those on Justin and Newly Headless Nick, and Madam Pomfrey was pleased to report that the Mandrakes were becoming moody and secretive, meaning that they were fast leaving childhood. Hermione was also free from the hospital wing.

Gilderoy Lockhart seems to believe that he was responsible for stopping the attacks. While the Gryffindors were getting ready for Transfiguration, Harry overheard him telling Professor McGonagall as much. He winked and tapped his nose knowingly,

"How much more fakeness can this man endure" Sirius huffed done with the man's antics.

"I don't think there'll be any more difficulty, Minerva. I believe that this time, the Chamber has been permanently locked. The miscreant must have realized I would get him eventually. It would be wise to halt now rather than when I was about to strike hard. You know, a morale booster is what the school needs right now. Get rid of your thoughts about last semester! I won't say anything further at this time, but I believe I have the perfect solution." He touched his nose once more before advancing.

"No please, we've seen your perfect solution and harry had to stay in hospital wing cz of that" James mumbled rolling his eyes.

Lockhart's idea of a morale-booster became clear at breakfast time on February fourteenth. Harry hadn't had much sleep because of a late-running Quidditch practice the night before, and he hurried down to the Great Hall, slightly late. He thought, for a moment, that he'd walked through the wrong doors.

The walls were all covered with large, lurid pink flowers. Worse still, heart-shaped confetti was falling from the pale blue ceiling. Harry went over to the Gryffindor table where Ron And Adalyn were sitting looking sickened, and Hermione seemed to have been overcome with giggles, while Arilene was just sitting neutral.

"What the hell has he made the great hall to" Sirius gasped at the description smacking his forehead lightly. 'Still sounds better than  what you did last halloween" Briony muttered rolling her eyes causing the Black boy to gasp again, "How dare you- you witch, it took me months to come up with that idea, and you are comparing it with this git's decoration?"

"No absolutely not, cz covering the whole great hall with Flobberworm booze and pictures of naked woman is such an idealist type of decoration" The brown haired smiled sarcastically at the black haired boy causing him to mumble incoherent words under his breath.

Harry sat down at the Gryffindor table, looking around in disbelief at the over-the-top decorations. He couldn't believe Lockhart's idea of a morale-booster involved turning the entire Great Hall into a Valentine's Day extravaganza.

Ron and Adalyn looked equally unimpressed, their plates piled high with breakfast food, untouched. "This is ridiculous," Ron grumbled. "I can't even eat with all this confetti falling everywhere."

Adalyn rolled her eyes. "I can't believe Lockhart thinks this is going to make anyone feel better after what happened last semester," she said. "If anything, it's just making me feel nauseous."
