"If the literature we are reading doesn not wake us, why then do we read it? A literary work must be an ice-axe to break the sea frozen inside us"
THIRD PERSON POV
When the Transfiguration class had finished, they joined the crowd thundering toward the Great Hall for lunch. "Ron, cheer up," said Hermione, pushing a stew toward him. "You heard what Professor McGonagall said."
"I am seriously so dumbfounded here, can someone explain to me what actually happened?" Adalyn asked. "That's what you get for not attending your first class," Hermione said rolling her eyes.
Adalyn's eyes twitched with annoyance, why does everyone want her to do her acts according to them, she's a free soul, she would do what's best for her, and not attending a class wouldn't do her any harm, of course, if this becomes a habit then it'll be wrong, but she had her reasons for it.
Arilene saw her mood, and placed her hand on the girl's shoulder, "In divination, the professor gave us tea to drink and after drinking, some tea leaves were left on the bottom of the cup, so according to Professor, in Harry's cup the leaves took the form of a grim, a dog, which is the omen of death" She explained to Adalyn who nodded her head.
James groaned, "of course, is there any year in which he doesn't get any threats of dy!ng?"
Ron spooned stew onto his plate and picked up his fork but it didn't start. "Harry," he said, in a low, serious voice, "You haven't seen a great black dog anywhere, have you?"
Sirius gulped staring at the ground.
"Yep I did," said Harry. "I saw one the night I left the Dursleys." Ron let his fork fall with a clatter.
"Probably a stray," said Hermione calmly. Ron looked at Hermione as though she had gone mad. "Hermione, if Harry's seen a Grim, that's — that's bad," he said. "My — my uncle Bilius saw one and — and he died twenty-four hours later!"
"Coincidence," said Hermione airily, pouring herself some pumpkin juice.
"You don't know what you're talking about!" said Ron, starting to get angry. "Grims scare the living daylights out of most wizards!" "There you are, then," said Hermione in a superior tone.
"They see the Grim and die of fright. The Grim's not an omen, it's the cause of death! And Harry's still with us because he's not stupid enough to see one and think, right, well, I'd better kick the bucket then!" Ron mouthed wordlessly at Hermione, who opened her bag, took out her new Arithmancy book, and propped it open against the juice jug.
"Why are they even fighting on this, just leave the topic. Not every divination prediction comes true" Briony said as lily nodded her head in agreement.
"I think Divination seems very woolly," she said, searching for her page. "A lot of guesswork, if you ask me." "There was nothing woolly about the Grim in that cup!" said Ron hotly.
"Guys, can't we have lunch in peace, stop with this divination already," Adalyn said pouring herself a glass of juice. "You don't get to say in it when you weren't present there" Hermione mocked her again and this time She had touched a nerve. Adalyn slammed her hand down on the table so hard that bits of meat and carrot flew everywhere.
