"Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation"
― The prophet

Third person pov

Harry woke on the last day of the holidays, thinking that he would at least meet Ron and Hermione tomorrow, on the Hogwarts Express. He got up, dressed, went for a last look at the Firebolt, and was just wondering where he'd have lunch when someone yelled his name and he turned.

"Harry! Adalyn! " They were there, both of them, sitting outside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor — Ron looking incredibly freckly, Hermione very brown, both waving frantically at him. "Finally!" said Ron, grinning at them both as they sat down. "We went to the Leaky Cauldron, but they said you left, and we went to Flourish and Blotts, and Madam Malkin's, and —"

"We got all our school stuff last week," Harry explained. "And how come you knew I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron?" "Dad," said Ron simply. "What about you adalyn, when did you come," Hermione asked her. "Umm, last month?" She shrugged. "Wait, what are you doing here since last month" Ron questioned her.

"She's gonna tell that short story again" Remus sighed shaking his head.

"Long story, well, found out they weren't really my parents, interrogated them about the same but they got angry and beat me up and grounded me, so as it was their normal behavior, I figured it'll be best to leave them" She explained with a sigh, Thank god she already informed Arilene or else she would have gone mad saying the same thing so many time.

"You know, you were in danger staying here? Are you out of your mind? They could have easily found you and dragged you with them. Why didn't you seek help from Hogwarts or anyone else? You could have informed Mr. Weasley, he could have done something, or at least let you stay with you, Seriously you all are stupid, idk how I am friends with you all" Hermione finished her angry speech by sighing loudly.

"Actually I agree with her, what would stop her pare- I mean whatever they are, to come here and take her away?" James whispered.

"umm well, If I see it that way, you are right. But they didn't come, why?" Adalyn voiced out her thoughts. "Come on, let's not focus on the negative things now, let's cheer up you are free now" Ron mused.

"Did you really blow up your aunt, Harry?" said Hermione in a solemn voice. "I didn't mean to," said Harry, while Ron roared with laughter. "I just — lost control." "It's not funny, Ron," said Hermione sharply. "Honestly, I'm amazed Harry wasn't expelled." "So am I," admitted Harry.

"Forget expelled, I thought I was going to be arrested." He looked at Ron. "Your dad doesn't know why Fudge let me off, does he?" "Probably 'cause it's you, isn't it?" shrugged Ron, still chuckling.

"Famous Harry Potter and all that. I'd hate to see what the Ministry'd do to me if I blew up an aunt. Mind you, they'd have to dig me up first, because Mum would've killed me. Anyway, you can ask Dad yourself this evening. We're staying at the Leaky Cauldron tonight too! So you can come to King's Cross with us tomorrow! Hermione's there as well!" Hermione nodded, beaming. "Mum and Dad dropped me off this morning with all my Hogwarts things."

"The first of september, ahh the joy it brings" Rabastan smiled at the ceiling

"What's all that, Hermione?" Adalyn asked, pointing at not one but three bulging bags in the chair next to her. "Well, I'm taking more new subjects than you, aren't I," said Hermione. "Those are my books for Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, the Study of Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies —"
