Chapter 42

"Oh, Is this what you're looking for?"

Their attention switched to me. Their faces are funny as hell. Baffled and pitiful. They didn't expect to see me at this very unexpected time. Hana's eyes grow bigger and her eyeballs become so small.

"You bastard!"

Kawaki's POV

I can't help thinking about what happened earlier. I was stuck at that moment. Damn that stupid girl! What should I do now? I need to do something to make up for the mess I have gotten into.

I tried to call her but she was out of reach. I texted her too but I didn't get a reply. I was looking for her everywhere, went to the shop she was working at but she was not there too.

"You messed up, Kawaki. Now think of something," I scolded myself and I can't calm down. I walk back and forth in the laboratory for five minutes and I still can't think of what to do.

"Ugh!" I slam my ass onto the chair and cup my face in disappointment. I rub my palms on my cheeks to pull myself together. I have never felt this way before not even with my dad back when we were still not okay with each other.

"I can't go on with the project anymore I think I need a break. I'm almost done with it and this happens. I am about to rise from the chair when something catches my eye.

Hana's drawer is slightly open I noticed that something is blocking it from closing properly. Out of curiosity, I open her drawer and a piece of small plastic appears. "What is this?" I am curious and pick it up. I examine and notice a flash drive inside it. When I flip it there is this logo of the Student Council Office.

"Why is this here?" My confusion and curiosity combine and I feel something weird about it. Instead of leaving it there and caring about my problem, I put it in my bag and left the lab.

"I have a bad feeling about this," I murmur. I decided to go home and check on this one.

I rushed to my room upon arriving at the house. I take out my laptop and settle on my desk. I pick the flash drive out of the plastic and insert it into the laptop to find out what is in there.

Click and more clicks until I find this unnamed folder that seems so suspicious and click it.

"These are..." I mutter in shock.

These are CCTV footage from the university. I open one of the videos forwarding it until I find the dork's controversial encounter with Shinki when she punches him in the face. I close and check the other video before it. I think it's a few days after the opening of classes.

"This is from the locker room," I mutter myself. I forward it and notice something strange. I see the bastard there. The time is 17:55:23 almost 6 pm. Why would he be in the locker room at this hour?

He walked to a specific locker I don't know whose locker it is. He opened it and pulled something out of his pocket It looked like a tag or something and put it inside.

"The heck was he doing?"

The dork's intuition was right all along. I close the video and check on another. Forwarding it as usual I found out it was the scene where the dork was humiliated in front of everyone because some unknown guy poured water on her.

"Oh, wait up, I should check the scene before this," and tap the video backward. While doing it I unexpectedly noticed Shinki again talking with someone.

"What's this?" Something came to mind. I tried to zoom in to check the person he was talking with. I take a screenshot. I get back to the previous video to check the person who poured water on the dork.
