During this time, his thoughts were disrupted in a strange way.

Liang Sunian blinked somewhat puzzledly, and it took him a while to find his voice again.

"Yeah, just finished playing basketball, all sweaty, couldn't stand it, had to shower."

Xie Jiaran said, "But it's not even half past eight now, you're here early."

As he spoke, there was warmth spraying on his neck, intensifying the itchiness.

Liang Sunian, feeling a bit uncomfortable, lightly scratched the area, then straightened up and sat in the empty seat beside him.

"Not early." He squinted and lazily yawned, "There's nothing to do in the dorm anyway, and there's a lot of shade over here by the art building, so I came to cool off."

It was true that the art building was cooler than any classroom or dormitory. Xie Jiaran nodded lightly, acknowledging.

In fact, Liang Sunian wasn't particularly keen on playing mobile games. If it weren't for the two "sons" in the dorm begging him to play, he wouldn't even bother opening his phone.

After finishing part of his drawing, Xie Jiaran noticed the person next to him idly killing time with his phone, occasionally opening it to reply to a message.

Seemed quite bored.

After a moment of silent contemplation, Xie Jiaran spoke up, "Liang Sunian, do you want to give it a try?"

"Hmm?" Liang Sunian looked up, "Try what?"

"To draw strawberries." Xie Jiaran said seriously, "I promised to teach you last time. Do you still want to learn?"

When he said he would teach, he truly displayed extraordinary patience, meticulously explaining each step at a pace more than three times slower, drawing a strawberry identical to the last one.

From sketching to coloring to outlining shadows, every step was explained in extreme detail.

"Drawing this is quite simple, it doesn't require many colors or any special techniques, even beginners can handle it."

He took the paper with the strawberry drawing and handed it to Liang Sunian, saying, "Refer to this, follow the steps I just explained, and you should be able to learn quickly."

Liang Sunian took the drawing and examined it for a while, then suddenly smiled.

Under Xie Jiaran's puzzled gaze, he pointed to his own nose with a serious expression, "Do you feel like I'm especially like a child being taken to work by their parents right now?"

Xie Jiaran made a sound of acknowledgment, not understanding.

Liang Sunian continued casually, "When I was little, my mom used to take me to her office like this, afraid that I'd get bored and cause trouble everywhere. She found a drawing book for me to play with, so I wouldn't bother her while she worked."

Xie Jiaran hurriedly said, "But you're not bothering me, I wanted to teach you."

"I know."

Liang Sunian leaned back in his chair, smiling, skillfully twirling the pencil between his fingers, creating a shadowy blur, "I'm already this old, can't be mischievous anymore, right? Just suddenly thought it'd be fun to tell you about it."

"Continue drawing, Teacher Xie. I'll practice on my own and show you the results later."

What Xie Jiaran taught Liang Sunian was a simple sketch of strawberries, and he expected this "later" to be no more than three to five minutes, at most ten minutes. But half an hour passed, and the person who said he would show him the results remained silent.
