When Liang Sunian hurried home, Xie Jiaran was feeding Xie Xiaonian some dried fish and canned food.

To be precise, it was Xie Xiaonian happily eating the canned food while Xie Jiaran quietly kept him company from the side.

His chin rested listlessly on his arm, and upon hearing the door open, a faint light appeared in his tired eyes.

"Why didn't you go to your room to rest if you weren't feeling well?"

Liang Sunian crouched down beside him and used the back of his hand to check his forehead's temperature, relieved to find it normal.

Xie Jiaran lazily kept his head down, his gaze following Liang Sunian's movements as he gestured a small distance with his thumb and forefinger. "I'm just a little bit uncomfortable, it's not that bad."

He stated the truth honestly but inadvertently sounded a bit like he was acting spoiled.

Only a little uncomfortable, but still calling you out of affection.

Liang Sunian smiled and ruffled his hair. "I think I smell flowers—did you buy some?"

Xie Jiaran finally looked up and pointed to the cabinet behind Liang Sunian. "Yeah, I passed by a newly opened flower shop on my way home. They were selling bellflowers—"

Before he could finish, Liang Sunian, who had been planning this, grabbed his wrist and pulled him into his arms.

The commotion caught Xie Xiaonian's attention. He stopped eating his canned food, curiously raising his head and wagging his tail as he stared at them.

Xie Jiaran, who was initially only feeling mildly unwell, suddenly felt his discomfort surge as soon as he touched Liang Sunian.

He raised his face to nuzzle against Liang Sunian's cheek. Having just rushed back from outside, Liang Sunian's body was still cold, and his skin was chilly, a stark contrast to the warmth in the room.

Every pore on his body felt comfortably open.

He sighed contentedly in Liang Sunian's ear, and in the next second, he was suddenly lifted and placed on the low cabinet behind him.

His hand accidentally brushed against a vase, and as he quickly caught it, his chin was tilted up, and a warm, tender kiss landed on his lips.

The intimate contact, coupled with his symptoms, was overwhelming, like a flood. No matter how many times it happened, he could never get used to it.

His ears buzzed, and all his senses focused on the places where he was being held, kissed, and touched. His grip on the vase tightened, forgetting that he still needed to put it down.

A soft laugh escaped from his lips.

Liang Sunian kindly took the vase from his hand and placed it aside. "Ranran, I've seen the flowers; you can let go now."

With his hand freed, Xie Jiaran hesitated for a second before wrapping his arms around Liang Sunian's neck as he was gently pulled forward.

The kiss quickly resumed, stealing his breath away. When Liang Sunian's tongue brushed against the sensitive roof of his mouth, sparks exploded in his mind.

He was irresistibly drawn into a deeper whirlpool by the person in front of him.

Being alone in a space together always made it easy to lose control.

At some point, they moved from the living room to the bed in the bedroom. Xie Xiaonian, the only child, was naturally left outside, and his whining and scratching at the door were ignored.
