It feels surreal, like a dream

It feels surreal, like a dream. The smile on his face is warm and genuine, and it makes me feel both excited and nervous at the same time. My heart races, and I struggle to find words.

Standing before me is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the legend himself, and I can hardly believe it. His presence commands respect, yet his demeanor is approachable. The room seems to quiet down, and I realize that everyone here shares a similar reverence for him. I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself, and step forward. This is my chance to meet the person who has been a beacon of inspiration for me in cricket and beyond.

Could this be any better! Yesterday I saw the God of cricket, today my GOAT!

I try to act cool and approach him. He looks at me, his smile widening. I don't even know what to say! I don't want to act weird! But before I can muster up anything, he greets me, "Oh! Hi Adhi! You were amazing yesterday, young man!"

That's it, my world stopped. MSD just said I played well! "Thank you, sir! You have been my inspiration always!" My vision gets blurred as tears well up in my eyes, but I immediately shake them off. "How have you been, sir? How's your health?"

As I stand before him, the weight of his words sinks in, filling me with a mix of pride and humility. Meeting him face to face is an experience I never imagined would come true, yet here I am, conversing with the cricketing legend himself.

"I've been well, thank you for asking," he replies, his voice calm and reassuring. "Just enjoying some downtime after the recent matches. And how about you? How are you feeling after yesterday's game?"

His genuine interest in my well-being catches me off guard. It's not just about cricket; he cares about the players as individuals. "I'm feeling great, sir, thanks to your guidance and inspiration," I respond, trying to keep my voice steady despite the overwhelming emotions.

He nods, his eyes reflecting a sense of understanding. "Remember, it's not just about the victories on the field. It's about the journey, the lessons learned, and the bonds formed along the way."

His words resonate deeply within me, reminding me of the values that transcend the boundaries of the game. I find myself nodding in agreement, grateful for this moment of wisdom shared by someone I've always looked up to. We get to talking and for the first time after soo many years I like being in a crowd, I like being a part of this crowd!

Meeting Mahendra Singh Dhoni, even for just a brief moment, has left an indelible mark on me. It's a memory I'll cherish forever, a reminder of the power of dreams and the potential within each of us to achieve greatness, both on and off the field.

After some time, we get into the groove, with MSD sir joining us on the dance floor. We're having a blast until I suddenly trip over my own feet, cursing my clumsy tendencies, the slippery floor, and those darn shiny shoes.

"I pity the girl who gets to dance with you!" comes a voice from behind me. I turn to see Ishan grinning like a Cheshire cat. "At least I'm not the one clumsily spilling food near the table! And girls love to dance with me; they're dying to!"

He's not entirely wrong. I'm not the most graceful dancer, and I do pity the boy who ends up with me. But something tells me Adhi isn't as klutzy as I am. Girls probably love dancing with him.

Shubh bhai nudges me with his elbow so hard it almost punctures my rib cage. I wince and turn to look, and sure enough, there's a lady at around 3 o'clock giving me the once-over. She quickly averts her gaze when she sees me noticing her.

I give Shubh bhai a playful glare. "You could've whispered it or something!"

He just chuckles and shrugs, "What's the fun in that?"I shake my head, trying to suppress a smile. Shubh bhai always finds amusement in the smallest things. But as we watch her, a man comes and kisses her forehead, and seeing a big-ass ring on her finger, I understand she's married.

"Not interested, but if you wanna take your chance, please!" I say with a playful grin, but I fail to notice that he's already left to make a move. I widen my eyes, wanting to stop him, but I stay rooted in place, curious about the impending drama.

He approaches her with a big grin, putting his charms out on display. But as soon as he says something, her husband straightens up and says something serious. I watch as Shubh bhai swiftly moves away from them with a scared look. Ishan bhai and I try to hold back our laughter as he joins us, but we fail miserably and burst into laughter!

Amid our laughter, Shubh bhai tries to defend himself. "Hey, it's not my fault! How was I supposed to know she's taken? She didn't exactly have a neon sign flashing 'married' above her head!"

Ishan bhai chuckles, shaking his head. "Well, you certainly have a knack for attracting trouble, Shubh. Maybe we should stick to cricket, huh?"

Shubh bhai rolls his eyes playfully. "Oh, please! Where's the fun in that? Life's too short to play it safe!"

I join in, unable to resist teasing him further. "Yeah, but it's also too short to get slapped by someone's husband!"He shoots me a playful glare. "What did he say though?"

"Oh, he said I'm very charming and he would love to dance with me, and more!" Shubh bhai says with a disgusted expression, his face contorting as if he's going to throw up.

We laugh even harder at Shubh bhai's dramatic reaction. "Aww! How cute, looks like someone's got a fanboy!" I tease, unable to resist adding fuel to the fire.

Shubh bhai's expression turns even more repulsed, if that's possible. "Ugh, don't remind me! I need to find a way to make myself less approachable."

Ishan bhai chuckles, clapping Shubh bhai on the back. "Good luck with that, buddy. With your charm, you're like a magnet for trouble!"

Shubh bhai sighs dramatically. "Tell me about it. Maybe I should just stick to being the silent, mysterious type."

I can't help but burst into laughter at the idea of Shubh bhai being silent and mysterious. "Yeah, good luck with that!" I manage to say between giggles.

As the night continues, filled with laughter, music, and dancing, I find myself feeling more at ease than I have in a long time. Surrounded by teammates, enjoying the celebration, and sharing lighthearted moments with Shubh bhai and Ishan bhai, I realize just how lucky I am to be part of this team for the time being. And as I steal a glance at MSD sir, who's still dancing with a group of players, I can't help but feel grateful for this incredible experience.
