Adhi's pov:
Once we reached my house, Sam got out and said goodbye, but as I reached the gate, a hand stopped me. I turned around to see Sam standing there, her eyes filled with tears.
Before I could process what was happening, she hugged me tightly and kissed me on the cheek.
I know it sounds cheesy when people say they feel electricity when their loved ones touch them, but every time she touched me, I felt light—whether I was in my body or hers! The warmth lingered on my cheek where she kissed me, but her tears made my heart race with worry. I knew what those tears meant.
I could see it in her eyes: she was struggling with something deep, something she felt compelled to say or do. And I didn't know how to respond to it. I wanted to comfort her, to tell her everything would be okay, but I feared that the words wouldn't come out right.
"Sam..." I began, searching for the right words. But she shook her head gently, her grip on me tightening.
"Just... give me a moment, okay?" she whispered, her voice shaky. "I just need to—"Suddenly, she stepped back, and I could see the pain etched across her face. "I'm sorry, Adhi!" she whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm sorry for saying goodbye!"
Then, without another word, she turned and ran back toward the car, tears streaming down her cheeks.
As I stood there, frozen in place, the weight of unspoken words hung heavily in the air. I had hoped she would fight for us, that she would find a way to bridge the gap between us. But instead, I watched as she disappeared into the distance, her silhouette shrinking until it was just a blur, leaving behind an emptiness that echoed in my chest.
The lump in my throat tightened as I fought against the tears that threatened to spill. I felt so helpless, so utterly lost. I wanted to call out to her, to tell her that I would always be here, that we could figure this out together. But all I could do was swallow hard and let the hurt wash over me like a tidal wave.
I stumbled into my room, my heart heavy with the weight of what could have been. The walls felt like they were closing in, and the silence was deafening. I let the tears flow freely, each drop a reminder of the connection we had forged, the laughter we had shared, and the unbreakable bond that now felt so fragile.
In that moment, I realized that love wasn't always enough to conquer the fears that loomed over us. Sometimes, it felt like a bittersweet ache—beautiful yet unbearable. And as I lay there, the memories of her smile and laughter replaying in my mind, I couldn't shake the feeling that something precious had been lost, a light extinguished before it had a chance to truly shine.
I knew then that I would carry this heartache with me, a silent reminder of the girl who had stepped into my life and changed everything, even if only for a moment. The world outside continued to spin, but inside, everything felt still—a haunting stillness that left me grappling with the weight of our unfulfilled dreams and the love that lingered like a ghost. Ching. What had just
