The following day, Alec Reed stood outside Mr Wilson's office with Victoria by his side. They both took a deep breath before Alec knocked on the door. After a brief moment, they heard Mr Wilson's voice from within.
'Come in.'
Alec opened the door and they stepped inside. Mr Wilson looked up from his desk, his expression neutral but curious.
'Mr Reed, Victoria. What brings you here today?' he asked, motioning for them to sit down.
Alec nodded and took a seat, Victoria following. 'Mr Wilson, I appreciate you taking the time to see us. I've been thinking a lot about what happened and how it's affected everyone involved. Victoria and I wanted to speak with you about addressing the school. I believe it's important to take responsibility publicly and to try and mitigate some of the fallout.'
Mr Wilson raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair. 'What exactly are you proposing, Mr Reed?'
'I'd like to hold an assembly.' Alec said. 'I want to address the students and staff directly. Apologise for my actions, explain the situation, and, more importantly, address the way Victoria has been treated. It's unacceptable, and I believe we need to address it head on.'
Mr Wilson considered this for a moment, his fingers steepled under his chin. 'An assembly? That's quite a bold move. Do you think it will help?'
Alec nodded. 'I believe it will. I think it's important for everyone to hear the truth from us directly. To see that we're taking responsibility. And to understand that while our actions were wrong, the bullying and harassment Victoria has faced are equally wrong.'
Victoria, her voice small but steady, added. 'Mr Wilson, I want to support Alec in this. I think it's the right thing to do.'
Mr Wilson sighed, tapping his fingers on the desk. 'Very well. I'll arrange for an assembly this afternoon. But Mr Reed, this had better be as effective as you believe it will be. Our school community needs healing, and I'm trusting you to help facilitate that.'
'Thank you, sir. We won't let you down.' Alec replied.

That afternoon, the entire student body and faculty gathered in the assembly hall. The room was filled with a low murmur of anticipation and curiosity. Victoria sat in the front row, flanked by Mia and Eric. Eric, trying to lighten the mood, whispered to Victoria.
'Well, if you're going to get in trouble for fucking a teacher, at least he's a hot one.' he joked, winking at her.
Victoria managed a weak smile, nudging him playfully. 'Eric, not now.'
Mia, ever the serious one, listened intently as Mr Wilson stepped up to the podium.
'Good afternoon, everyone. As you all know, recent events have brought up a lot of discussion and concern within our school community. Today, Mr Reed has requested to speak to all of you. Please give him your full attention.'
Alec walked up to the podium, his demeanour composed but solemn. He took a deep breath, before addressing the assembly.
'Thank you, Mr Wilson. And thank you all for being here today. I know there's been a lot of talk and rumours, and I want to address everything head on.'
He paused, looking out at the sea of faces. 'First and foremost, I want to apologise. To the students, to the faculty, and the parents. What happened between Victoria and I was inappropriate and unprofessional. I crossed a line, and for that, I am deeply sorry.'
