The Big Question.

Alec had been meticulously planning this night for months. He wanted everything to be perfect for Victoria. He had kept the details secret, only telling her to dress nicely for dinner. As the sun began to set, he arrived at her house, excitement bubbling inside him.

Victoria stepped out of her house, looking stunning in a flowing blue dress. Alec couldn't help but stare, a wide smile spreading across his face.

'You look incredible.' he said, offering her his arm.

'Thank you.' Victoria replied, a hint of a blush on her cheeks. 'You look pretty handsome yourself.'

Alec wore a sharp navy suit, his hair neatly styled. He led her to the car, opening the door for her. 'Ready for a special night?'

'Absolutely.' Victoria said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

They drove for about thirty minutes, arriving at an elegant outdoor restaurant by the lake. Fairy lights twinkled in the trees, and the soft glow of lanterns created a magical atmosphere. Alec parked the car and took Victoria's hand, leading her inside.

'This place is beautiful.' Victoria said, looking around in awe.

'I thought you'd like it.' Alec replied, smiling.

They were shown to a private table on a secluded patio, surrounded by lush greenery overlooking the serene lake. A soft breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, and the sound of gentle waves added to the romantic ambiance.

'This is perfect.' Victoria said, taking her seat. 'You really outdid yourself.'

'Only the best for you.' Alec said, sitting across from her. 'Tonight is all about us.'

They ordered their meals, the conversation flowing easily between them. They laughed and shared stories, their playful banter ever present.

'Do you remember the time we nearly got caught, back when you were my teacher?' Victoria asked, giggling.

'How could I forget?' Alec replied, laughing. 'We were too bold, and just didn't care about anything.'

'Memories.' Victoria sighed, her eyes softening.

As they finished their meal, Alec's heart pounded in his chest. The moment he had been waiting for was approaching. He reached into his pocket, his fingers brushing against the small velvet box.

'Victoria.' he began, his voice slightly trembling. 'There's something I've been meaning to ask you.'

Victoria looked at him, her curiosity piqued. 'What is it?'

Alec stood up, moving around the table to kneel in front of her. He took a deep breath, pulling out the box and opening it to reveal a sparkling diamond ring.

'Victoria, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.' Alec said, his voice filled with emotion. 'You make every day brighter, every moment more meaningful. I can't imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?'

Tears welled up in Victoria's eyes as she looked at Alec, her heart swelling with love and joy. She nodded, a radiant smile spreading across her face. 'Yes, Alec. Yes, I will marry you.'

Alec slipped the ring onto her finger, his hands trembling with happiness. He stood up, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply. The restaurant staff and a few nearby diners, who had been watching the proposal, erupted into applause and cheers.

They returned to their table, both of them glowing with happiness. Victoria kept glancing at the ring on her finger, unable to stop smiling.

'I can't believe this.' she said, looking at Alec with shining eyes. 'You planned all of this?'

Alec nodded, taking her hand. 'I wanted it to be perfect for you. You deserve the world, Victoria.'

'You've already given me so much more.' Victoria replied, squeezing his hand. 'I love you so much.'

'I love you too.' Alec said, his voice filled with emotion. 'I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.'

They toasted to their future, sharing more laughter and dreams of the life they would build together. The night was filled with love and promise, a beautiful beginning to their journey as an engaged couple.

They arrived at Alec's apartment, and Alec opened the door, their hands still intertwined.

'Thank you for tonight.' Victoria said, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him. 'It was perfect.'

'Anything for you.' Alec replied, kissing her back. 'I love you, Victoria.'

'I love you too.' she said, her heart full.
