Victoria, Eric, and Mia stood at the entrance of the school, armed with a stack of brightly coloured invitations. It was Victoria's 18th birthday in two days, and she was determined to make her party the talk of the town. Her friends were more than willing to help, but little did they know, the task would be anything but simple.
'Alright, team.' Victoria said, adjusting her glittery headband. 'Operation: invite mania is a go! We have to get these invites to every single student in this school.'
'Affirmative.' Eric replied, saluting her. He wore his usual mischievous grin, a stack of invitations in his hand. 'This is gonna be epic.'
Mia adjusted her glasses, looking over her list. 'I've mapped out the best strategy. We hit the cafeteria first, then the hallways, and finally, the classrooms. Efficiency is key.'
Eric rolled his eyes. 'You and your plans, Mia. Sometimes you just gotta wing it!'
'Yeah, and that's why you ended up in detention last week.' Mia shot back.
Victoria laughed, handing out the first few invitations to a group of giggling freshmen. 'Come on, you two. We've got work to do.'
They made their way to the cafeteria, which was buzzing with the usual morning chaos. Victoria handed out invitations with the grace of a seasoned politician, smiling and chatting with everyone. Eric, on the other hand, had a more creative approach.
'Attention, everyone!' Eric shouted, hopping onto a table. 'You are all cordially invited to the most amazing birthday bash of the century. Victoria's turning eighteen, and you do not want to miss it!' he began tossing invitations into the air, like confetti.
Students laughed and scrambled to catch the invitations. Mia facepalmed. 'Eric, I said efficient. Not dramatic.'
'Oh, come on, Mia.' Victoria said, nudging her. 'It's fun!'
Mia sighed but couldn't help but smile. She started handing out invitations in her own methodical way, making sure not to miss anyone. She spotted the school's star football player, Jake, and handed him an invitation.
'Hey, Jake. Hope you can make it to Victoria's party.' she said.
Jake grinned. 'Wouldn't miss it. Heard there might be karaoke.'
'There will be, and I expect a solo from you!' Victoria called over, winking.
As they moved to the hallways, the trio split up to cover more ground. Victoria glided through the crowd, her charisma attracting students like a magnet. She approached the notorious gossip girls, Tiffany and Amber.
'Hey, ladies! Here's your invite to the party of the year.'
Tiffany raised an eyebrow. 'We'll think about it.'
'Oh, you'll be there.' Victoria said confidently. 'Trust me, everyone will be.'
Meanwhile, Eric found himself in the art wing, where he spotted the quiet, artsy crowd. He walked up to a group painting a mural.
'Hey, future Picassos! Victoria's birthday party in two days. Be there or square.' he said, handing them invites.
One of the students, a girl with paint splattered overalls, smiled shyly. 'Thanks, Eric. We'll definitely come.'
Eric beamed. 'Awesome! There's gonna be a ton of drinks and a dance floor. Maybe you guys can paint something cool for the party?'
Mia was in the library, strategically placing invitations in the most popular books. She handed one to the librarian, Mrs Green, who chuckled.
'Trying to get everyone, I see.'
'Absolutely, Mrs Green. No one's getting left out.'
As the bell rang for the first class, they regrouped at Victoria's locker, their stacks significantly smaller.
'Mission accomplished?' Victoria asked.
'Almost.' Eric said, holding up a few remaining invitations. 'Just need to hit the classrooms.'
Victoria nodded. 'Let's split up one last time.'
In Mr Thompson's history class, Eric walked in, interrupting the lecture. 'Excuse me, Mr T. Just need a minute.'
Mr Thompson sighed. 'Make it quick, Eric.'
Eric handed out the last of his invitations with a flourish. 'Victoria's eighteenth birthday party! Two days. Be there!'
The class erupted in whispers and excitement. Mr Thompson shook his head but smiled. 'Alright, back to the Revolutionary War, folks.'
In the science lab, Mia carefully placed invitations on each workstation, nodding to the teacher, who gave her an amused look. 'Victoria's birthday party.' Mia explained. 'Everyone's invited.'
Finally, Victoria walked into the drama class, where rehearsals for the school play were in full swing. She handed invitations to the director and the cast, making sure they all knew the details.
With their task finally done, the three friends met back in the main hallway, out of breath but triumphant.
'That was intense.' Mia said, fanning herself with an empty envelope.
'But we did it!' Victoria exclaimed. 'This party is going to be legendary.'
Eric high-fived both of them. 'We are the ultimate invitation squad.'
As they walked to their first class, they couldn't help but laugh at the morning's antics. Victoria felt a surge of excitement. Her eighteenth birthday was going to be unforgettable, and she had the best friends to share it with.
