A week after the unforgettable birthday bash, the school was abuzz with preparations for the prom. The gymnasium was being transformed into a glittering wonderland, and everyone was pitching in to help. Victoria, Mia, and Eric were among the volunteers, bustling around with decorations and supplies.
'Okay, we need to hang these streamers from the ceiling.' Victoria directed, pointing to the long strips of metallic paper in Mia's hands.
'On it!' Mia replied, grabbing a ladder and starting to climb.
Eric, carrying a box of fairy lights, grinned up at her. 'Don't fall, Mia. We don't need any prom related injuries.'
Mia rolled her eyes. 'I've got this, Eric. Just worry about untangling those lights.'
As Eric began to unravel the tangled mess of fairy lights, Mr Wilson and Mr Reed, now just Alec to Victoria, walked in to check on their progress.
'Looking good, kids.' Mr Wilson said, surveying the room. 'But remember, no stupid decisions today. We need everything perfect for tonight.'
Eric saluted with a grin. 'Yes, sir! No stupid decisions. Got it.'
Alec gave Victoria a brief, meaningful glance before addressing the group. 'How's it going here? Need any help?'
Victoria smiled, feeling a flutter in her stomach at the sight of Alec. 'We're good, thanks. Just making sure everything's perfect for tonight.'
Alec nodded, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer before turning to help Eric with the lights. 'Need a hand with that?'
'Please.' Eric said, handing over a particularly stubborn knot. 'These things are worser than headphones.'
Meanwhile, Mia was halfway up the ladder, trying to secure the streamers to the ceiling. 'A little help up here would be fantastic.' she called down.
Mr Wilson laughed. 'You heard her, Eric. Get your butt up there.'
Eric groaned but complied, climbing up the other side of the ladder to assist Mia. 'Why do I always get the dangerous jobs?'
'Because you're the tallest.' Victoria teased from below, handing up another streamer.
As the group worked together, the gymnasium slowly transformed into a beautiful, sparkling venue. Streamers hung gracefully from the ceiling, fairy lights twinkled along the walls, and tables were set with elegant centrepieces.

A few hours later, back at Victoria's house, the trio was getting ready for prom. Victoria's room was a whirlwind of dresses, makeup, and hair products. Charlotte and Sophia popped in to check on the preparations.
'You kids look amazing.' Charlotte said, beaming. 'Victoria, that dress is gorgeous on you.'
'Thanks, mum.' Victoria replied, twirling in her elegant, floor length gown.
Sophia looked up at her sister with wide eyes. 'You look like a princess, Vic.'
Victoria bent down to hug her little sister. 'Thanks, Soph. Maybe one day you'll get to go to a prom too.'
Eric emerged from the bathroom, adjusting his bow tie and looking dapper in his tuxedo. 'How do I look, ladies?'
'Like a movie star.' Mia said, smiling as she finished curling her hair.
Charlotte laughed. 'You all look fantastic. Make sure to take lots of pictures tonight.'
'We will.' Victoria promised, applying the final touch of lipstick.
