I looked at myself in the full length mirror, admiring myself and grateful that the day I had been waiting for was finally here. The dress hugged my figure just the right way and I thanked my lucky stars I didn't gain or lose weight during this hectic months.

Who would have thought this would be my life? For years this was nothing, but a dream, at one point I thought I wasn't destined for such a life, yet here I was, about to start the beginning of my new life with the man of my dreams alongside me.

"Honey, it's time to go. We don't want you to be late for your own-"

"Ara, let's go." April cut Mum off opening my door and continued. "You look gorgeous."

"Okay, let's go before you two make me emotional. Do you think he'll be there A?"

"You can bet on it," Soph answered standing by the door. "He said, he will be the most charming man in a suit."

I giggled, knowing that those were Jake's exact words. I hadn't been able to talk to him this morning, busy with last minute details. Checking that we had everything, we piled in April's car and left for the venue.

London traffic was a nightmare to get through, but luckily we arrived just in time, everyone taking their places.

"When we started, there were twenty two of you, today you are fifteen. It hadn't been an easy journey with each term, but I'm proud to see you all here. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you class of 2023!" Said the LCB Vice Chancellor.

Everyone attending our graduation ceremony applauded and cheered, happy that we were finally qualified and certified chefs.

"Top of the culinary class, Amara Scott!" Announced the chef instructor and I heard my entire family cheering as I stood up to collect diploma. I couldn't believe that not only was I graduating, but I was graduating top of my class.

One by one we were called until they called Sophie to collect hers. "Our top pastry chef, Sophie Evans!"

April and I stood up, shouting at the top of our lungs as we watched our friend and Sophie's family was far behind cheering her on. Her mother had convinced her father to come to her graduation and you could tell that though he was a stubborn man, he was still proud of his daughter.

I gave Soph a hug as soon as she joined us and caught a glimpse of my father at the far end of the crowd. Like he had promised, he still kept in touch, texting every now and again to check up on me. I didn't know if things would ever be great between us, but I appreciated him trying.

"I will be right back." I told the girls and walked to him.

"Hey, thank you so much for coming," I said, giving him a still awkward hug.

"Thank you for inviting me, I'm proud of what you've accomplished Davina."

Bit by bit he started using my second name and I ended up letting him. I had missed it, so it was nice to hear it.

"I couldn't have done it without you." I acknowledged his part in me being here.

"The Reigns siblings would have still found a way to get you sponsorship, even if I didn't agree to it. They care a lot about you."

"True...Come join us while we take pictures and maybe for lunch too?" I suggested not sure if I made the right call.

"Are you sure? What about your mum?"

"Mama won't mind, as long as you don't bring your people along."

Truth was, Mum wouldn't even notice even if he brought his wife or children along with him. I was the one who would mind, I still had a hard time accepting that he left to go and raise another woman's child and had two more after.
