The two of them watched the burning figure. The black armor was peeling off from Lloyd's body, and the rising blood mist was gradually calming. The black sword in his hand looked like the angel's sword that cleaved through despair.

Looking at the damned detective, Brolau was overwhelmed with mixed emotions, his voice choked up, "Damn it! Damn it! I think I've fallen for this lunatic!"

Brolau was almost incoherent. Beside him, Blue Jade also let out a sigh of relief and slumped down, too exhausted to show any joy if she wanted to.

"I'm not interested in men, get out of the way."

Lloyd had recovered from Ed's death, cursing and swearing as he returned to his usual self.

"How... did you do it?"

Blue Jade stared at the large bloodstains outside the door. She knew how many monsters there were out there. Even if they stood still and let Lloyd hack at them, he couldn't have killed so many in such a short time.

Lloyd gave his answer, "They retreated. I only intercepted a small portion... You must have felt it too, right? The nightmare illusion has been lifted. That Dreamweaver must be dead, but who killed him?"

Although some of the terms from the Demon Hunter organization were confusing to Brolau, he understood that the biggest difficulty of their mission had been resolved. The time for counterattack had come.

"The nightmare is lifted. Those soldiers should be waking up now... Move, Brolau! If you're not dead, get moving! The crisis isn't over!"

Lloyd kicked the prone Brolau while speaking, ignoring his severe injuries. Perhaps Lloyd was imposing the standards of a Demon Hunter on him. For a Demon Hunter, as long as there was a breath left, they could still fight, exhibiting a terrifying resilience.

"What are you going to do?"

Brolau didn't understand what Lloyd intended to do. The detective seemed unusually diligent, as if he were in a hurry to kill someone.

"Recover that so-called Holy Coffin. It's much more complicated than you think."

This time, Lloyd was serious. Previously, he had approached everything as a detective, but now his actions were driven by his identity as a Demon Hunter. As a Demon Hunter, he had to do these things.

"How does this thing work?"

The complicated control panel was incomprehensible to Lloyd. His biggest regret during his time in Old Dunling was not learning about steam machinery. This was Inlwig's core technology. To learn this knowledge, one's background had to be spotless. Given Lloyd's complicated background, he'd probably be arrested as a spy by the second day.

"It's in emergency stop mode and has been stagnant for a long time. We need to restore power and get the engine running."

At that moment, the driver woke up. Although unclear about what had happened, seeing the severe injuries of Brolau and Blue Jade, he could guess some of it.

"Friend, you woke up just in time. Now get this thing moving!"

Lloyd shouted, clearly very anxious. The driver nodded repeatedly and began frantically operating the control panel.

"Now it's your turn."

Lloyd turned his gaze to Brolau and Blue Jade.

"What... what are you going to do?"

Brolau sensed something was off about the detective. The bright white flames were slowly extinguishing, and deathly ashes emanated from his body.

"Nothing, just making sure certain things pay the price."

Lloyd squatted down and took the communicator from Brolau's chest. The indicator light turned green. With the end of the nightmare illusion, the interference that had been disrupting communications disappeared.

"Wait! Lloyd!"

Brolau struggled to his feet, trying to stop Lloyd, but Lloyd stomped on his chest, immobilizing him. The damned detective adjusted the channel and then spoke.

"Attention, everyone! Wake up the sleeping bastards nearby!"

He was furious, his voice filled with rage.

"This is Lloyd Holmes. I'm taking charge of the operation. Everyone, get ready for battle. Load your bullets. The only command is to kill all non-human creatures in sight."

"Lloyd, you madman, what the hell are you doing?"

Brolau shouted, but Lloyd gave him no chance. He pinned the communicator to his chest and spoke fiercely, "You're relieved of duty, Brolau."

"You maniac! This is the Purification Agency's unit. You're our suspect!"

Brolau was about to go mad from the detective's antics. Just a few hours ago, Lloyd was his prisoner, but now he was leading the entire operation.

"No, this time I'm serious, Brolau. You have no idea what you've lost. Frankly, you shouldn't have touched that thing at all!"

It was something called murderous intent. The demon hunter exuded a terrifying aura, almost indistinguishable from the demons except for his human appearance.

"So, if you want to make up for your mistakes, listen to me from now on, understood?"

Brolau stared blankly at him. This was a side of the detective he had never seen before, incredibly assertive. Before he could respond, Lloyd spoke again.

"I think you'll agree, sir. I'm the only one here who can fix this."

He wasn't asking Brolau, Blue Jade, or anyone present. His words were directed at the Purification Agency in Old Dunling, that mysterious shattered dome.

Lloyd had adjusted the communicator to broadcast on all channels. Not only could the soldiers on the train hear, but so could those monitoring everything from the shattered dome.

Time ticked by, feeling like an eternity. Finally, a weary voice came through the communicator.

"I, Arthur, with full authority, hand over command to you, Lloyd Holmes."

Under that distant, vast dome, in the grand and complex command center, people busied themselves, sending reports into capsules that traveled through brass tubes to the depths below, to the dark and eerie place.

Someone picked up the report, stamped and filed it. Below, in a huge pool filled with insulating fluid, a differential engine furiously calculated, a masterpiece of human ingenuity, breathtaking mechanical art.

Arthur's orders were disseminated layer by layer, finally reaching the train in the gloomy depths.

Everyone heard the command. Some didn't know who this Lloyd Holmes was, while others who did showed expressions of shock.

After a while, Blue Jade shakily raised her hand, "What should we do?"

Lloyd looked at the awakening knight, nodding approvingly before speaking to her, "First, get this damned train moving!"

"But sir, the tracks ahead have been damaged by the twisted flesh!"

The driver protested. If the train moved, it would derail soon, but Lloyd didn't care. He looked at the driver.

"Do we have to stay on the tracks to move forward?"

Theoretically possible, but practically insane, like surviving in lava for a few minutes. The driver couldn't say this aloud. The guy looked like a killing god, and who knew if he'd chop him up in anger.

"Lloyd, you're a lunatic."

Brolau cursed, but Lloyd kept him pinned down.

"But once off the tracks, even if we don't flip over, the terrain can't support the train. We won't get far."

Blue Jade, having forgotten her sorrow and pain, analyzed calmly.

"Yes, but we don't need to go far."

Lloyd's gaze pierced through layers of steel, reaching the eerie green tower ahead. The train was close to it, very close.

Just a little more distance to conquer.
