"Lloyd Holmes, I can't figure out what you're thinking anymore. Even if you do this, what difference does it make? You left her out in the blizzard. As long as I follow the tracks back, she still won't escape."

Lawrence glanced at the man sprawled on the ground, looking almost like a corpse.

"What if, Lawrence? What if I kill you right here? People need dreams, you know!"

Lloyd retorted, but he didn't even have the strength to stand, nor did he care about Lawrence's threats. He seemed resigned to his fate, choosing to torment his opponent with words instead.

Lawrence laughed at Lloyd's words. He picked up a spiked sword and approached Lloyd.

"Want to chat a bit more? Actually, I'm curious why you betrayed the order."

Lloyd struggled to back away, writhing on the ground like a piece of meat, but he soon found himself against the edge. Lawrence, relentless, continued to advance.

"Don't do this. I'm a dead man anyway... Can I at least have a smoke? Just a chance to chat about my assassination plan against you. Honestly, it was brilliant. I felt like an undiscovered genius."

He babbled on, showing none of the demeanor of a man facing death.

"Are you afraid of dying?" Lawrence suddenly stopped.

"Maybe. After all, a dead man can't kill you."

Lloyd glanced sideways at Lawrence and slowly took out a cigarette box from his pocket. The box was crushed, and the cigarettes inside were mostly broken. He managed to find one that was still intact.

"Did you know, Lawrence? Humans are truly remarkable."

With the cigarette between his lips, the flame flickered in the blizzard as Lloyd spoke, pulling out the spiked sword embedded in the train car. It seemed to be an oil tank, with black liquid oozing from the cracks.

"Do you know what this is?"

Lloyd asked, holding up a bit of the black liquid.

Lawrence had never seen such a substance and instinctively remained cautious.

At this moment, he wasn't sure if Lloyd had reached his limit. That strange power in his mind hadn't appeared yet. In their previous encounters, this cunning man had caused him plenty of trouble.

He kept a safe distance from Lloyd.

"This stuff is called crude oil. Highly flammable and hard to extinguish. Merlin said it would be one of the new energies to change the world."

"And there are many such tanks on this train."

Lloyd said softly.

"Are you planning to take me down with you? This won't kill me."

Lawrence sneered.

Though he didn't know the power of crude oil, with his current strength, he could retreat before the danger struck. Even if caught in the explosion, the Holy Grail would heal him.

"Is that why you let her go? So she wouldn't burn to death with you."

Lloyd shook his head, uncertain himself.

"Who knows? Some things you only realize when they're right in front of you... Maybe I just let her go on a whim."

Lloyd continued talking.

"So, Lawrence, do you understand how advanced modern technology is?"

"For example?"

"For example, the range of artillery, the destructive area of shells, what a mature industrial production line can create... Or..."
