My feet began to ache after what felt like forever. "How much longer till we get there" I whined.
"This walk, is gonna be a long one" he chuckled.
He watched me as I sucked my teeth narrowing my eyes as we walked. "Trust me, it's worth it" his lips grew closer to mine and the soothing touch of his lips on mine, calmed me down.
Once we arrived I couldn't believe my eyes, never in a million years did I imagine I'd step foot in Def Comedy Jam. Chris brought my tv to life, Lucky would always cut the tv to Def Comedy Jam. It became my favorite show when I lost him, I'd always turn it on to laugh the pain away.
Chris didn't know it, but he sure as hell impressed me that night. Because it was an amazing night, I laughed till my stomach hurt. My body grew sore from laughing and my cheeks grew tired after smiling so hard.
By the end of the show Chris's arm was over my shoulder and my head laid onto him. "I cannot believe I just watched Def Comedy Jam, live" I widened my dramatic eyes talking to him.
We began our walk back underneath the last of the sunset. The cool air began to grow icy over time on our stroll. "You were laughing the whole time, Ima need to learn a thing or two because you don't laugh half as hard at my jokes" he spoke with his charming smile.
As I grinned I could feel my cheeks grow red. "You do make me laugh" I said sing-song putting my arm around his. My two hands wrapped around his arm as he held his hand in his pocket.
"Uh-uh" he sung in a disbelieving tone. "It's okay, you can be honest with me" he spoke chatty. I giggled at his playful nature. "I'm a honest guy, if you haven't noticed" he looked down at me with his widened eyes.
I raised my brows tilting my head back. "Oh really, because I couldn't tell. You know my mom went to law school, I'm pretty good at detecting liars" I said with my witty tone.
"Okay, let's see how good you are at detecting liars" he spoke.
"Oh boy" I whined.
"No, this is gonna be good, ima test your skills. Let's play two truths, one lie, you ready" he questioned.
"I'm ready" I held my chin up looking at his face in awe waiting for him to speak.
"Ight first truth, I got a kid" he spoke confidently.
Those words were the least of my exceptions of him. They puzzled me as I lifted my head from off of him, I raised one brow. He began to chuckle breaking his serious face. "I hope that's the lie" I mumbled.
"My second truth, I played basketball in college"
"That's more believable" I said serious as he laughed.
His eye contact grew intense as he stared deeply into my eyes. "Lastly, I'm really feeling you Justice" he never broke eye contact as he spoke with purpose behind his words. I could hear it in the way he spoke, he meant what he was saying.
"That was the truth" I said direct and he began to chuckle flashing his dimple.
"What about the other two?"
"You have no kids" I sassed raising my voice "I hope"
He erupted into a laugh attack. "You're damn right, I'm not planning on having no kids, no time soon" he said.
"What are you waiting for?"
"The right one, I'm waiting till I find someone I want to marry" after his words the weather had other plans. The two of us watched as one single rain drop fell down the space, between our faces. I glanced at the sky and watched as more began to drizzle down over our heads.
