"Come on Justice, I hope you ain't break nothing, cause Jessie gonna take it outta yo paycheck" Iesha spoke with her sassy tone.

Rolling my eyes, I held the heavy weight of hair supplies in my two hands. "How far is this shop girl" I questioned in a whiny tone.

"It's just one more shop over, move ya ass" she was so damn loud and bossy.

"Alright, could you not be so damn pushy" I spoke in my low tone.

I walked my best carrying the weight of various different hair dryers, only a few feet away and finally Iesha stopped. She struggled as I watched her attempt to open the glass door to the empty shop.

Through the door I watched as Jessie talked on her phone, she smiled talking with ease, until she glanced at us at the door. She briefly let out a groan with her smile far from gone and strutted her walk to the door in her red heels. She opened the door for us, glaring at us as while we entered.

"Alright, Charles let me call you back honey, alright now, bye bye, Mwah" she kissed into the phone before hanging up.

The shop was empty, except for the desk in the middle of the room. It was the same old desk from the old shop in Cali. Jessie was my boss, sometimes she was a mother figure to me, she was the only figure in my life after losing my mother.

I worked for Jessie for a few years now, everything was in Cali, I grew up there and worked there. Cali was home, until Jessie decided to bring the shop across country. New York was our new location, apparently, she was convinced moving the shop is the only way for her to bring her business to new heights.

Iesha, my best friend, my only friend except for white-boy. White-boy is my white cat, he had some cat friends in Cali, I planned to find him some new friends while in the big apple. Iesha dropped her box like a child, the box fell from her hands and slammed against the floor.

Jessie franticly put her hands in her hair like a mad woman, she wore fear on her face widening her eyes. "What the hell is wrong with you girl" Jessie yelled anxiously.

Iesha flipped her braids off of her shoulder, with her unbothered face. "I had to carry that heavy ass box down three blocks while men cat-called me and Justice" Iesha whined indignantly.

"Oh please, Justice could use the exercise, she got too much junk in her trunk anyway" Jessie spoke derisive with a playful smile.

I shook my head to scoff before placing my box down gently. Jessie widened her eyes watching me catch an attitude. "And what's wrong with you" she asked.
