—— Seori
Entering the hut, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement coursing through me as I took in the familiar sights and sounds of the street racing scene. Jungwon's friends were already there, their laughter and chatter filling the air with a sense of camaraderie.
My eyes landed on Yeji, who was cuddled up with Jake, their affectionate display drawing a smile to my lips. It was clear that they were lost in their own world, oblivious to everything else as they stole kisses before the race began.
Sunghoon, as usual, was not participating in the race, opting instead to hang back and watch from the sidelines. His eyes caught mine, and he immediately noticed Jungwon's slightly pale complexion.
"Hey, Jungwon, are you feeling alright?" he asked, his brow furrowing with concern.
I couldn't resist the urge to tease Jungwon once again, nudging him playfully. "Oh, don't mind him. He's just a little shaken up from our bungee jumping adventure earlier."
Jungwon shot me a mock glare, his lips quirking up into a half-smile. "Thanks for that, Seori. Now Sunghoon's going to think I'm some kind of wimp."
I laughed, rolling my eyes at his dramatics. "Oh, please. You were practically clinging to the railing up there."
Sunghoon chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Well, it looks like I'll have to babysit you again, Seori. Just like the first time you came here."
I gasped playfully, feigning offense. "Excuse me? I don't need a babysitter!"
But before I could protest any further, Jungwon was called to the starting line, his friends rallying around him with words of encouragement. I watched him go, a swell of pride filling my chest at the sight of him, fearless and determined as ever.
As he prepared for the race, I made my way over to him, standing on tiptoe to press a quick kiss to his cheek. "Good luck out there, Jungwon."
He smiled down at me, his eyes soft with affection. "Thanks, Seori. I'll see you at the finish line."
With that, he was off, the roar of the engines drowning out any further conversation as he joined the other racers on the track. Yeji and I watched from the hut, our eyes glued to the display screen as the cars sped around the track in a blur of color and speed.
"Come on, Jungwon!" I cheered, my heart racing with excitement as I watched him navigate the twists and turns of the course with skill and precision.
Beside me, Yeji echoed my sentiments, her fingers crossed for Jake as they raced side by side, their cars leaving trails of smoke and excitement in their wake. And as we cheered them on, I couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these surrounded by friends, adrenaline pumping through our veins, and the thrill of the race unfolding before us.
The race unfolded in a whirlwind of speed and adrenaline, my eyes glued to the screen as Jungwon expertly maneuvered his car through the twists and turns. My heart pounded with excitement, my cheers growing louder with each passing second. And then, in a burst of triumph, Jungwon crossed the finish line first, his car speeding past the checkered flag.
I let out a jubilant cheer, unable to contain my excitement as I bolted out of the hut. My feet barely touched the ground as I raced towards Jungwon, my heart swelling with pride and love for the boy who had just conquered the race.
"Jungwon!" I called out, my voice filled with joy as I leaped into his arms.
He caught me effortlessly, spinning me around as we both laughed, the thrill of victory buzzing between us. His smile was radiant, his eyes shining with exhilaration as he held me close.
