—— Jungwon
As we made our way back to my apartment, I kept a tight grip on Seori, who was practically bouncing with energy from all the soju she had consumed. Her face was flushed a deep red, and she couldn't stop giggling and stumbling as we walked.
"Jungwon, this is so fun!" she exclaimed, her words slurring slightly. "We should do this more often!"
I sighed, a mix of amusement and concern running through me. "Maybe with a bit less alcohol next time, Seori."
She pouted playfully, swaying on her feet. "Aww, but I feel so happy and free!"
Just as I was about to respond, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I fished it out, seeing Jake's name on the screen. Of all the times for him to FaceTime me, it had to be now. I hesitated for a moment before answering, trying to maintain my hold on Seori with one hand.
"Hey, Jake," I greeted, attempting to sound casual.
Jake's face filled the screen, a wide grin spreading across his features. "Yo, Jungwon! Where are you, man? We were supposed to hang out tonight."
"Yeah, about that," I started, but Jake's eyes widened as he noticed Seori beside me, her arm draped around my shoulders for support.
"Dude, is Seori drunk?" he asked, barely able to contain his laughter.
I nodded, giving him a wry smile. "Yeah, she had a bit too much at the street food bar. I'm trying to get her back to my apartment."
Jake burst out laughing, clutching his sides. "Oh man, I wish I was there to see this. Good luck, bro."
I rolled my eyes, trying to keep Seori steady as she leaned more heavily against me. "Thanks for the support, Jake."
Just then, Seori wrenched herself free from my grasp, her eyes lighting up with mischief. "Jungwon, look! I'm free!" she shouted, taking off down the sidewalk at a surprising speed for someone so intoxicated.
"Seori, wait!" I called after her, my heart racing as I chased her down. I could still hear Jake's laughter echoing from my phone, which was now in my pocket.
"Catch me if you can!" Seori giggled, darting between pedestrians and narrowly avoiding colliding with a streetlamp.
I finally caught up to her, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her back towards me. "Gotcha!" I said, slightly out of breath.
She squirmed in my arms, still giggling. "You're too slow, Jungwon!"
I tightened my grip on her, making sure she couldn't slip away again. "Okay, enough running around. Let's get you home."
Just then, I heard Jake's voice again, faintly through the phone. "You okay, Jungwon? Sounds like a handful."
I fumbled for my phone, holding it up so Jake could see us both. "Yeah, we're good. Just need to get her back safe and sound."
Jake smirked. "Good luck, man. And hey, tell Seori I said hi."
"Will do," I replied, ending the call and shoving my phone back into my pocket.
Seori looked up at me, her eyes wide and innocent. "Who was that?"
"Just Jake," I said, starting to walk again, this time with a firmer hold on her. "He says hi."
She giggled, leaning her head against my shoulder. "Hi, Jake! Wish you were here to see this!"
I shook my head, amused despite the situation. "Come on, Seori. Let's get you home."
