—— Seori
After our showers, Jungwon and I settled into his bed. He was sprawled out almost entirely on top of me, his head nestled comfortably in the crook of my neck. The weight of his body was both comforting and reassuring, like a warm, protective blanket. He had given me one of his shirts to wear, the fabric soft and imbued with his scent, which I loved. I also wore a pair of his shorts, though they were comically too big for me.
The room was quiet, save for the rhythmic sound of Jungwon's breathing and the occasional rustle of the sheets as we shifted slightly. I felt a deep sense of contentment, his presence calming my every nerve.
"You know," Jungwon murmured against my skin, his voice a low rumble, "you look ridiculously cute in my clothes."
I chuckled softly, running my fingers through his damp hair. "You think so?"
He lifted his head slightly to meet my gaze, a playful smile dancing on his lips. "Definitely."
Just then, my phone buzzed on the bedside table, interrupting our moment. I reached over, careful not to disturb Jungwon too much, and grabbed it. A message from Daejin flashed on the screen: "Hey, Seori. Just a reminder that we’re on for our celebration coffee on Monday after school."
A pang of guilt tugged at my heart as I read the message. I hadn't mentioned this to Jungwon yet, and given our earlier conversation, I knew I had to handle this delicately.
"Who is it?" Jungwon asked, his voice casual but tinged with curiosity.
I bit my lip, hesitating for a moment before turning the phone so he could see the screen. "It's Daejin. He just wanted to remind me about our coffee on Monday."
Jungwon's eyes flickered with a hint of annoyance, but he quickly masked it with a neutral expression. "Right. The coffee to celebrate your project."
I nodded, searching his face for any signs of lingering resentment. "Yeah. I didn’t mean to keep it from you, Jungwon. I just didn't think it was a big deal."
He sighed, lifting himself slightly so he could look at me more directly. "I know, Seori. It’s just... Daejin seems a bit too interested in you for my liking."
I reached up to cup his cheek, my thumb brushing gently over his skin. "You have nothing to worry about. I'm yours, remember? And I love you."
His expression softened, and he leaned down to press a tender kiss to my lips. "I know. I love you too. I just... I don't want to lose you."
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer. "You won't. I promise."
He sighed again, resting his forehead against mine. "Alright. Just... keep me in the loop, okay? I want to be supportive."
I smiled, feeling a rush of warmth at his words. "Of course. I'll make sure to keep you informed."
We settled back into our comfortable position, Jungwon's head returning to the crook of my neck. His breath was warm against my skin, and I felt his body relax as he let go of the tension.
"I trust you, Seori," he whispered after a moment of silence. "It's just... hard sometimes, you know?"
"I understand," I replied softly, my fingers threading through his hair once more. "And I appreciate your trust. It means a lot to me."
We lay there in silence for a while, the gentle rise and fall of his breathing lulling me into a state of tranquility. Despite the brief interruption, I felt closer to Jungwon than ever, our bond strengthened by the honesty and trust between us.
