Ellery's POV:

"Finally!" Ellery exclaimed. "I can go home!"

Elwin had just explained that her shoulder and head have healed and that she can go home to Rainbow Hills.

"Remember to concentrate during the leap!" Elwin reminded her as she leaped away from the healing center. It has only been about four days since she blew up Foxfire....

"Hi Ellery!" Her parents exclaimed as she glittered into view. Her house was on a hill and gorgeous grass stretched on for miles. The sky by her house also had a unique rainbow northern lights phenomenon, hence the name Rainbow Hills.

"Hi mom! Hi dad!" Ellery said happily as she got wrapped in a family hug.

"I have something to tell you sweetheart..." her mom said. "I agreed to let Ryla Hctiw stay at our house during her time in the Lost Cities."

"Why?"

"Because..... that's the only way you could go back to Foxfire. Nobody else that the council considered a good home agreed."

"Oh. That's fine then. Is she staying in the guest room?" Ellery asked.

"She is staying in the guest room just down the hall of where your room is." Her dad replied. "You'll get used to it!" He added when Ellery cringed.

I don't want a weird witch living right next to me!
It's weird...

Ellery and her parents started walking into the mansion. Ellery looked around and asked "Is Ryla here yet?"

"Yes." She heard supposedly Ryla say. The noice came from upstairs. Ellery started climbing up the stairs to check the second floor. The second floor was Ellery's huge bedroom and a large guest room down the hall.

Where are you hiding?

Ellery looked in her room and the guest room and Ryla was nowhere to be seen. Ellery walked up to the third floor where her parents room and the silent room was. Their room was even bigger than Ellery's! That's saying something...

"Ryla where are you?" Ellery called out.

"Up higher!" She heard Ryla yell.

Ugh....
Just come down!
What is she doing so high anyways?
As far as I'm concerned the fourth, fifth, and sixth floor was all storage.
Maybe she's on the seventh floor?
That's where the 'hang out room' is.

Ellery ran all the up to the seventh floor and when she got to the top she was breathing heavily and her legs ached.

Note to self:
Don't run up stairs.
Maybe I should work out more...

The door to the hang out room was closed and when Ellery tried to open the door it was locked. She knocked and then waited a minute. She knocked again. Then again. "Let me in!" She finally yelled.

"I'm coming gosh." She heard Ryla say as she unlocked and opened the door. Ellery looked at Ryla. She had her unique orange hair in a braid and she was wearing an Elvin tunic.

Wait....

"Is that mine?" Ellery asked, gesturing to the tunic.

"Yeah, your parents said make yourself at home... so I did."

"You went through my closet?"

"Yeah."

Ok then.....

Ellery walked into the room. It had beanbag chairs, a carpet floor, tables and chairs with paper and colored pencils. There was also a big window with a view of a beautiful lake.

"What do you want?" Ryla asked her.

"What? Oh, I'm just making sure you're settled. If you'd like a tour-"

"I'm busy. Sorry?" Ryla cut her off, not sounding the least bit sorry.

This will be a long year...

Ryla was standing in front of Ellery, and when Ellery moved Ryla also moved.

She's blocking me from seeing what's on that table.
Something black?
Round?

"Why are you blocking me?" Ellery asked.

"I'm not blocking you." Ryla insisted.

Ellery moved and Ryla blocked her view again. Ellery then ran past her and caught a glance at a big, round, bowl.

"Is that a cauldron?!"

"Uhhhh.... Maybe."

"How did you even smuggle that in here?" Ellery asked.

"Well, let's just say I have a really big suitcase..."

Must be pretty big, considering how big that cauldron is...

Ellery squealed as a muscular goblin warrior melted out of the shadows behind Ryla. "Nice seeing you again, Ellery." He said.

"What are you using that cauldron for?" Ellery asked as Ryla filled it with water so hot it started bubbling.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" She vaguely answered.

"She refuses to say." Sandror told Ellery.

"Well, just don't blow up the seventh floor and I guess it doesn't matter." Ellery told her, though it didn't look like she was listening. Ellery and Sandor watched Ryla pour in bottles, and bottles, and bottles of different ingredients.

It looks like she knows what she's doing.

"Uh, oh! Take cover!!!!!" Ryla shouted a second before the cauldron started bubbling, A LOT more. Ellery ran behind a beanbag chair, as Sandor grabbed Ryla and yanked her away from the cauldron. "No! Put me down!" Ryla yelled as he dragged her to the farthest corner of the big room.

"Boom! BOOM!!! Boom!" Ellery heard the cauldron roar. Then it went silent. Ellery peeked her head out from behind the beanbag chair and the cauldron was full of red goop.

"Ellery back away!" She heard Ryla shout as Ellery walked closer.

"It's fin-" Ellery started to say but, got hit in the face with something heavy. She fell onto the floor and saw the ceiling start falling towards her. She tried to scream, but before she could, a piece of the ceiling hit her in the head.... knocking her out.
