Part 25: Speaking Wolf?!

Ellery's Pov:

I screamed as loud as I could when I saw the pack of wolves staring at me.

"Calm down!" Gwen yelled, as the wolves began to move towards us.

"CALM DOWN?!?!?"

"Yeah... calm down." Gwen said with an eye roll.

HOW CAN SHE BE SO CALM?
WE ARE GOING TO BE EATEN BY WOLVES!!!!

I stopped screaming, when Gwen walked five feet closer to the wolves.

"What are you doing?!??" I yelled. "We should run!"

"Nahh..." Gwen replied as she walked until she was only two feet away from the wolves.

THIS GIRL IS CRAZY!!!

The wolves all howled at Gwen and the middle one squatted down... getting ready to attack.

I shrieked in fear as the middle wolf jumped on top of Gwen.

"AHHhhhahhHhh!" I yelled. I was too scared to move. I closed my eyes as I heard the wolves licking Gwen...

Probably licking her up like a popsicle.
Omg!
I never thought my life would end this way!

I stood in place.... frozen in fear. Until I heard laughter...

"Hahah!"

I opened my eyes and saw the wolves surrounding Gwen, licking her face like a pet dog would.

"What?!" I shrieked.

What is happening?!
I'm confused...

"Howl how howl!" Gwen howled.

Omg....
Is this girl secretly a wolf or what?

"Ho ho howl!!!" The wolf in the middle howled back at Gwen.

"Umm.... what is happing right now?" I ask Gwen.

"Oh sorry!" Gwen said, standing up and patting the middle wolf on the head. "These wolves are nice." Gwen said with an eye roll.

"Ok... but were you just speaking wolf?" I asked Gwen with sarcasm.

Gwen chuckled. "Duh."

"You speak wolf?" I asked her again.

"A little bit." Gwen said as she rubbed one of the wolves tummy's.

"How, though? Exactly?" I asked her.

"Asher, one of the boys who helped kidnap you."

I don't understand that.
This 'Asher' guy speaks wolf?

"He speaks wolf?" I asked.

Gwen signed, like I was asking what 1+1 equals. "Asher was raised by wolves. He speaks Howler (which is the wolves language) and he lived in the woods until Bob and... I think it was Joe? Found him."

That is crazy...
And hard to believe.

"So Asher lived with wolves? Does he even know English?" I asked Gwen curiously.
