Part 16: Taking A Nap At The Wrong Time

Ellery's POV:

Ellery took a deep breath and opened the door to The Universe classroom...

"Hello!!! My name is Ellery Foster and I can't wait to learn! I hope-" she was cut of by a mentor with dark skin, brown hair, and light blue eyes.

"May you please lower your voice?" He asked in a SUPER boring tone.

"Sure!" Ellery whisper shouted.

The mentor told her to sit down in the rooms only chair "Make yourself comfortable." He whispered boringly.

She sat down and almost gasped at how comfortable the chair was. It was soft and leaning back slightly like a lounge chair.

So comfortable!
I love this chair!

"Anyways... this class will be about learning the stars and constellations. Understanding the importance of the universe and every single star."

Ellery accidentally yawned.

"Do you have somewhere else you'd rather be?" The mentor asked calmly.

"No sir..."

"Sir Rump."

Omg...
Sir but!
Sir booty!
Sir tush!

Sir Rump flipped a switch and it turned pitch black. Then stars appeared on the walls and ceiling as he explained EVERY SINGLE THING about EVERY SINGLE STAR.

"The first constellation we will memorize..."

Ellery tried to listen to Sir Rump. She really did! But it was only a matter of time...

The chair is comfortable...
The lights are off and he can't see me....
I'll just close my eyes for a moment.

Ellery had fallen asleep in class.

"Ellery?" She heard Sir Rump calling her name.

Her eyes fluttered open and she pretended she was NOT just asleep...

"What was the question?"

Sir Rump signed. "I asked you which star I was just talking about."

"Oh yeah.... Uhh..."

Oh no!
Should I guess?
Lie?
Tell the truth?

"The star you were just talking about was... ummm... I forgot. Sorry! I was paying very close attention, but got distracted for a second."

Guess I'm going with lie!

"Very well. Class is dismissed." He said in his normal, flat and boring voice.

Ellery walked out of the room and started heading to study hall. She walked a little bit slower to make sure she didn't fall over or run into anyone.

Ughh...
I can't believe I fell asleep!
Now I don't know anything about the lesson!

Ellery opened the door to study hall and saw Ryla fighting with another girl. The mentor monitoring study hall wasn't there yet.

"Stop bothering me." A girl with brown curly hair and light skin said.

"You started it!" Ryla exclaimed.

"No! I didn't..."

"Yes you did!" Ryla exclaimed with a look in her eyes that Ellery knew meant TROUBLE...

Ryla smirked and shoved the girl onto the floor.

"You loser!" The girl on the floor shouted.

The prodigy's in study hall started murmuring about who's at fault....... and many of them thought it was Ryla.

Not really a surprise...
That girl is a big trouble maker.

"WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE?!" A mentor shouted as she walked through the door and noticed the fight. "Well? Miss Heks? Miss Hctiw? Were you guys just fighting?"

"No Lady Tinap..." the girl on the floor mumbled.

"Actually.... Lady Tinap..." Ryla said as she looked the mentor in the eyes. "Stellia was bulling me."

"I WAS NOT!!! She's lying!" The girl who Ellery assumed was Stellia yelled.

"THAT IS ENOUGH!!!" Lady Tinap yelled, "For causing such a scene you guys BOTH have lunch detention for a week."

Ryla looked at Stellia and mouthed 'You'll regret that.'

Stellia just smiled and winked as she sat back down in her chair.

Lady Tinap clapped her hands and announced "That's enough of that! Everyone please return to your seats and continue your homework."

Everyone did as she said and silently went back to work. Ellery started to pull out her work went she heard a telepath transmitting to her.

"Friend! Ellery! Friend!"
