Part 26: Joe drives like a madmad...

Ellery's pov:

The second Bob closed his eyes Chloe started crying.

Then Martha.

Then Asher.

Then Joe.

Then Maverick. (Sorry if I haven't mentioned him yet. I forgot.)

Gwen looked at the teens and rolled her eyes.

That girl has got no sympathy!!!
Even I feel my eyes tearing up.
I wonder if they will bring Bob to the hospital?
If he IS a runaway then it's a hard choice.

"Come on guys!!! Toughen up!" Gwen yelled.

Everybody looked at Gwen in shock. Like she's never actually cared enough about anything to speak up.

"We need to bring Bob to the hospital! Chloe, since your parents know him then.... pretend he's a distant relative or something."

"O-ok." Chloe looked sad for another second and then put on her game face. She pulled a phone out of her pocket and started calling someone.

"Joey!!!" Gwen yelled.

Joe looked at Gwen surprised. "What?" He asked her, curiously.

"You... uh... need to drive us to the hospital."

"WHAT!!!!????" Joe screamed. "No way!!!!" Joe jumped out of his seat and started to run away.

He must really hate cars...
I've never been in a car before.
Human things...

Asher jumped out of his seat and pushed Joe to the floor right in the doorway.

"Joe, please! Do it for Bob!" Gwen yelled.

"I REFUSE TO DRIVE A CAR!!!!" Joe yelled, with terrified eyes.

"But... you're the only one with a license!" Martha  yelled.

"YOY KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DRIVE CARS!!!" Joe yelled.

"What's the problem?"

It took me a second to notice that I was the one who asked the question.

Martha looked at me and sighed, like she forgot about me.

"Joe's parents died in a car crash."

(Sorry if I already mentioned the car accidents. I can't remember!!!)

That's terrible...
I feel bad for him.

Martha shook her head. "And his grandmother... and grandfather."

Mallowmelt.

"And after he took his drivers test. For the fifth time... he finally passed! After he passed the test he drove his car into the woods, hit a tree, and then started a forest fire. After THAT he ran into the woods so he wouldn't get caught."
