"Hello?"
"Hey Alyssa. It's me." The phone next to his ear. Wanting to hear her again, hoping to apologise over what he did to her last night.
"Michael?" Hearing his voice. Seeming surprised to hear him speak to her over the phone. Alyssa didn't wish to speak to him again, after what happened. As well as afraid over what he might just do. What she just seen, it's something she cannot forget. Nor something she would have a hard time forgiving him over.
"Yeah it's me." A small silence between the two.
Liam is in the kitchen, doing some cleaning, leaving Michael alone on his phone, preferring not to interrupt. Nor make problems for him even worse.
"Alyssa. About last night..."
"I know." Hearing these words, enough to freeze him into place. Now unsure what to say next.
"Michael... last night was a good time. Then all of a sudden... you decided to murder some guy... because of me..." His hungover still taking over him. Still unsure what to say to her next. Even if the words she has said to him, was enough to hurt him, to make him feel sad, scared and guilty over his actions in front of her.
"Alyssa, what I did was some stupid mistake... I was drunk at the time." Silence from her end. Not responding back immediately.
"Well it doesn't sound like you were that drunk when you attacked him. Even the way you spoke to me and him." His apologies starting to become useless. Not doing anything to make the situation even more better for him.
"Alyssa..."
"Just don't talk to me again... you know... I thought when we first talked, you seem like a guy who has a vision in making the world better... but then before you ruined the party, you became the opposite in making the world better. From the looks of it, you became much worse than your father." A terrible insult to his heart. Enough to make Michael angered but his love for Alyssa, he cannot let it go. He doesn't want to hurt her but last night was enough for her to lose the love and admiration towards him. Including their friendship.
She hangs up. Wanting to say something, hoping to stop her, doing everything he can to make her forgive him, to show what he did wasn't him, despite the issues and problems that are deep down within him, issues he struggles to face, ones he struggles to recover from.
Defeated, he sits down, refusing to throw his phone away from him. Remaining in control over himself. Liam in the kitchen, listening to the words Michael has been saying to Alyssa, hearing him not saying any more, was enough to finish his chores.
Walking towards him, seeing his best friend in a terrible situation, only this time, everyone knows. It will be hard for anyone to cover this incident up for him. No point in hiding them now that the video of him attacking another person is live on social media.
Sitting beside him. Putting his hand over his back. "How did it go?" He looks at Liam, trying not to smile in front of Michael, knowing how bad the call went.
"She's gone. I lost my chance thanks to me." Trying to think of some comforting words that could help cheer Michael up. Until he looks back at him with more worry and anger.
"Why are you here anyway!" Liam looks at him with confusion and concern.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"If you were another person having seen this video, you could have left me, slander me, destroy me. But you chose to stay... why?" An obvious answer for him. Liam could have left him but chooses not to.
"You're my friend bro. The thing with Alyssa, she has only known you for a short time." Trying to keep hidden over a much worse incident he has done to the housemaid. He even found it incredibly awful and disgusting. He wanted to leave Michael the moment he led that housemaid to the bedroom and did whatever terrible acts he could have done to her. But stayed with him by his side. Remembering the promise he has made to Benjamin ever since he met his father, he will do everything he can to ensure Michael is safe, Michael doesn't do anything stupid, Michael doesn't do anything that may cause his reputation to be destroyed.
