It's too dark, unsure where to go, what she's seeing right now. Only thing she has is the feeling. The feeling coming from her feet as she stumbles around, walking, tired and hurt. Filled with wounds and dirt on her face. Her clothes, not recent but different from the first time she stepped into the forest.
This was never going to be an easy journey.
Walking in the forest as she struggles to keep herself up. But her legs, becoming imbalanced as her body almost reaches the ground.
Her hands on the ground to prevent the entirety of her being on the floor. Her eyes still open but her well-being, all with a dizzy vision, struggling to gain clear on what's going on but all aware that she remain kneeling on the ground.
Breathing in and out, her vision becomes clear but not for long. She pushes the floor hard, letting her body raise up once more.
She rises again but her legs, her body, still unstructured, she falls, next to a tree. Helping her remain up with her body laying on the tree.
"Where are you girl?" Looking behind her. The voice was loud, loud enough for her to hear. There's nothing behind but the tone of this person's voice was clear and loud. He's getting close.
Needing to keep moving, all she thinks about. Regaining her balance once more, away from the tree, she continues. Wanting to run but her body, refusing to do so. All she could do was walk. The only way she could.
Continuing her route, hoping the person far away doesn't find her. She doesn't know how long she's been walking and it doesn't seem to bother her. Nothing appears in her mind and that's good. That's all she wants.
No matter the time of the walk she had, she stops. At the sight of something right in front of her. Taking a closer look as her vision remains a bit blurred.
The river lake. Water flowing from the right side. A sigh of relief she makes as she runs again.
Making it to the lake.
Making it to the lake, stopping her tracks next to the river. With relief by her side, she puts her entire head into the water. All of it. All in the water.
Drinking from it as her head remains underwater. Keeping herself hydrated from it thank God. With her energy back, removes her head away from the water. With the dirt and wounds from her face, she puts the water in her hands. Splashing it on her face. Splash, splash and splash, wiping the dirt and wounds away from her. The wounds were never painful for her, never bothering her. They're just a bunch of small cuts for her.
More splashing along with wiping, the dirt and blood from her face, now away from her. She's clean free. The adrenaline has depleted, it's all gone now. Moving herself, she sits next to the water. The only view in front her, trees from the other side of the river. Hard to see but the look she gives to it, it's the best sight she has.
Not moving a single inch as she keeps her eyes right in front of her. Closer to her eyes, her eyes remain white and clear. Her vision has returned to her.
Still remaining still as her focus remains in front of something she's currently seeing. No emotion from it, nothing, just a beautiful sight.
"Mary. Mary!!" Attracting her attention. It's broad daylight. Mary is in a beach. Around the beach, not a lot of people around. Only a few, mostly families.
"You're doing the stare again." A guy, walking to her with a smile on his face. Wearing a buttoned shirt with jeans and sun glasses. Mary loves to make fun of him wearing jeans all the time, even during the summer.
"Really... I am?" He laughs as he makes it to her, lowering his body next to her. Now she's not alone.
"Yeah, you are. You do that all the time whenever you're alone." "Oh so you're spying on me now." He laughs.
"Yeah except that you don't have a boyfriend." She laughs before laying herself onto him. Wrapping her arms around him.
"I know. But you are mine." He laughs. He wishes. They never dated but he has always loved her. The same goes for her.
"That is true. Oh I got you something." Curious and excited, he picks it up from his pockets. A punch of bread rolls. Still warm and delicious. So happy to see them, she immediately grabs one. He smiles and laughs, ripping the package off the bread roll. Mary already got hers out and takes a quick bite out of it.
Going from a quick bite to slowly chewing on it. So delicious for her. The Nutella in those bread rolls do the trick along with bananas and marshmallows.
"Joseph, you are the MAN!! I can never stop having more of your delicious treats." He smiles, flattered and appreciated.
"What can I say? I'm the best cook you ever had." She laughs and continues eating it. Silence erupts, no word between the two of them as they both look forwards. Nothing but the water flowing in and out of the beach. A sight to see.
"So what were you thinking about?" The food remains in Mary's mouth as she asks him again what he said. Only able to catch a quick glimpse of his words.
"Usually when you stare at something for a long time, you think about something so what is it you were thinking about?" Mary hears every single word he has just asked.
"Nothing."
"Nothing? Really." Not believing what she has just said. He knows there's something in her mind.
"Yeah nothing."
"Oh come on, there's something you're actually thinking about." Laying the food on her pale, free leg.
"Joseph, I haven't thought of anything and that's the truth." Still not believing her but chooses not to push further with it.
He returns to his food and looks at the sight forwards him. Turning his head back to Mary as she finishes completing her bread roll's demise.
"You're thinking about the Light again aren't you." The last piece left in her hand, could take a bite but doesn't take the chance. Slowly lowering her hand as she looks at Joseph.
"Yeah. I am..." Small silence between the two of them.
"Mary, listen... I know why you're thinking about the Light but I'm still gonna be here. With you. Always with you." Tears, slowly coming out of her eyes. Not realising this, she lets them come out of her eyes.
Slowly turning her head back to Joseph. "But I don't know what to do."
Joseph has already finished eating his bread rolls before approaching her. Giving her a big, comforting hug.
"You know what to do Mary. You know what to do." Mary would continue laying onto him. Her eyes closed, gently.
She awakes, looking around her, still dark around her environment. Laid next to the river. She hasn't left. She's still there.
"I know you're there!!" Hearing this voice once more, making her more wide awake. Putting water in her hand before pushing it to her mouth, letting the water flow inside her. Reducing the thirst before raising herself back up. Her strength and energy has returned.
Risen again she immediately runs to the other side of the river, hoping the person far away doesn't catch her.
That's all she wants.
