Till she wakes up. Joseph no longer with her. She's alone once again. Except, she's not in his home celebrating her birthday, inside some tent she doesn't know. Not even bright, it's dark inside too, with only a smile dint of light allowing her to see clearly.

But it's never clear, her eyes, still feeling blurred after falling unconscious from her wounds. Feeling a bit discomforted from her body, from the pain, from the slashes, she groans. Trying to move herself in a struggle.

Moving her own body causes more discomfort towards her as she keeps groaning from it.

Connor, from the other side, sleeping, not laying himself back, waking up from Mary's painful groans. His eyes immediately becoming clear for him as he turns his attention towards her.

Seeing what she's doing also wakes up Melody who immediately squeaks loudly, feeling happy and excited to talk to her again.

"Woah woah woah, easy." He says, putting both of his hands on her, in order for her to stop.

She becomes confused, wondering where she is now. "I found you laying on the ground, in pain and... wounded." She looks at him before turning her head around, observing the whole interior.

"How... how long have I been out?" She slowly asks, still trying to catch her breath.

"I don't know. I don't really have a watch or a clock. But the sky turned dark so I would probably say a few hours." Same goes for Mary, having not brought her phone with her to learn the time, learn how many hours she's been within those woods.

Feeling more conscious than ever, she lifts her shirt. Seeing the wounds bandaged up, along with a few stitches, enough to keep them closed and shut. Surprising her, more surprised over the fact the boy standing right in front of her is a child. Not an adult. Yet is by himself with a squirrel.

Who jumps onto her in excitement. Mary laughs, happy to see the cute little fellow again, as well as the squirrel, happy to hear her voice.

"You know Melody?" Connor asks. She looks at him.

"No not really, I was umm walking around and well, your squirrel showed up." Connor smiles.

"Oh that's where you are." Putting his hands on her cheeks, making the squirrel laugh. "Sorry, Melody likes to wander around the forest, makes her feel happy. She doesn't like being in the tents for too long." They both laugh.

"Wanna go outside, I cooked some fish curry." Fish curry, something she has never had, but she doesn't have her rations, having lost it with her encounter with the bear. An encounter she would want to forget but fish curry, she can give it a try for the first time. She never had curry before but the way he describes curry before they got out of the tent sounds really delicious.
Connor cooking it, it's impressive, despite knowing there are children in other countries who learned how to fend for themselves, how to cook, how to clean, including some children who would learn how to be an engineer and make stuff and based on what she's seeing in him, he's really creative and imaginative.

Coming outside, the fire still going up in the sky, bringing warmth to the both of them, even inside. Having collected lots of wood to keep the fire going. On top of it, a bowl of curry inside. Grabbing a big spoon his mother left him before they went out in the woods. He pours it in two bowls.

Giving the curry to her, chow time he says. Eating the curry fast. Seeing it makes Mary laugh before taking a quick sip at the curry.

One sip in her mouth, her mind is blown. It's amazing, beginning to eat everything from the bowl, really fast. Shocking Connor, not expecting her to eat that way but doesn't seem to bother her, letting her eat the way she is as he continues eating from his bowl.
