I stood before his doorstep, contemplating my choices as Parmis held my right hand and the tote bag hung from my left hand, filled with food containers containing soup, porridge, and other delicacies prepared by my grandma.

I gazed down at Parmis, her face veiled in sorrow. Perhaps it was wise to let her stay at my place today, I wondered, regretful of bringing her along. Yet, I had no choice as today marked the third day, and Parmis's parents might arrive in the evening to take her back home.

I took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell, waiting for him to open the door. However, it was Shervin who greeted me, his bare chest on display, showcasing his taut abs. He casually wore a pair of Khaki sweatpants, and his damp curls clung to his forehead, framing his face. Shervin stared at us in surprise, his eyes nervously darting between Parmis and me. "Uh... Parsa mentioned you wouldn't be coming today..."

His voice trailed off, uncertainty lacing his words.

My brow furrowed in annoyance as I spotted Sarah descending the stairs, and heading toward the kitchen. Thankfully, she was fully clothed. Inwardly, I muttered, I had a hunch he wasn't sick!

My body involuntarily moved to step inside with Parmis, but Shervin obstructed my path. "W-Wait!" he implored.

My expression hardened as I snapped, "What?"

Shervin's gaze darted to Parmis before he leaned in, his voice a hushed whisper in my ear. "I believe this situation is inappropriate for Parmis's presence."

As my patience wore thin and my frustration reached its limit, I exclaimed, "How can you guys be so reckless and careless?"

Shervin responded hastily, his palms raised in a defensive gesture. "I swear I thought we were alone today!" he implored. "Please wait here for a moment!" With that, he quickly ascended the stairs, his movements laced with anxiety.

Parmis, innocent and oblivious, questioned me, "What's happening?"

I glanced at her, a smile upon my lips, and replied, "Nothing. Your brother and cousin are simply acting like fools."

Her adorable laughter filled the air, and she began to swing her body playfully in anticipation, her small hand still tightly clutching mine.

Shervin emerged, now dressed appropriately, sporting a plain white T-shirt layered beneath a navy blue sweatshirt. He flashed a grin at Parmis and asked,

"Would you like me to take you to the playground?"

The excitement in her eyes was palpable as she nodded vigorously and replied, "Yes!"

Shervin then raised Parmis from the floor, a teasing glint in his eyes. "I'll take care of her while you clear the area, Soldier Ryan." With Parmis in his embrace, he stepped outside, casting an amused glance. I maintained my glare, my furrowed eyebrows expressing my frustration. Shervin couldn't help but playfully remark before departing, "Come on! Don't be angry with me."

"Just ensure you take good care of her," I instructed, a hint of resignation in my tone as Shervin and Parmis entered the elevator.

I closed the door behind me and made my way to the kitchen, where Sarah stood sipping her black tea, leaning against the cabinet. She gave me a smirk, mockingly asking, "What's up, sissy boy?"

Ignoring her remark, I carefully placed the tote bag on the counter, extracting the food containers from the inside and placing them in the fridge. "Please leave once your tea is finished," I said.

Sarah casually set her tea on the countertop and stood beside me, crossing her arms over her chest as she tilted her head, provoking me with a taunting question. "Do you get periods too? Judging by your moodiness, it seems you're on your period right now."
