Trigger warning: Attempted r*pe

"What's going on?" Parsa asked, drawing closer.

I hastily grasped Danial's shoulder, hopped forward, and whispered, "Don't tell him about what just happened!"

I then took a quick step back and leaned against the wall. "It's just that..." I trailed off, struggling to find the right words.

Danial flashed a sidelong glare at me before looking at Parsa, saying casually. "He's mad because I broke his crutches while playing around with them..."

Kia's eyes darted between Danial and me, clearly perplexed, but he nodded in agreement. "Yeah... it was an accident..."

Parsa furrowed his eyebrows as he halted, standing close to me. "Why would you do something so silly?" He huffed, glaring at Danial. "He can't walk without them..."

Danial scratched his head as he attempted to contain his irritation. "Sorry, bud." He then added, "I'll get him a new-"

"No need to," Parsa cut off his words as he lowered himself in front of me, gesturing for me to hop on his back. "I'll buy him a pair after school."

Danial grumbled under his breath before turning around and seizing Kia's wrist. "Do whatever you want then." He then led Kia away, descending the stairs.

I feel like the last sentence is for me... I coiled my arms around Parsa's neck, allowing him to give me a piggyback ride to class. Parsa started walking, gently holding my thighs as he posed a question. "I thought you'd rather get hurt than hurt someone else," he mused.

"What do you mean?" I turned my neck to the side, trying to catch a glimpse of him, puzzled by his statement.

Parsa smirked in response, his voice calm as he continued, "I'm surprised you picked a fight with him for such a small matter. Danial seemed hurt..."

"I'm a bit... sensitive because..." I hesitated, looking for an excuse. "My legs and back hurt..."

"Ahah! So it's the aftermath of our steamy night!" Parsa chuckled in a soft voice as we approached the class.

"Ugh," I grumbled, resting my head on his shoulder. "Stop teasing me!"

"Don't want to..."

That day set the tone for the following days; I tried to avoid Yousef at all costs in order not to get caught by him or his friends, which could have been a dangerous situation for me to handle alone, considering that Yousef seemed pretty mad at me, judging from his threatening messages.

I deliberately avoided interacting with Danial and Kia, distancing myself from them in an effort to safeguard their well-being. Danial was clearly angry with me and unable to comprehend my reasons, but eventually gave up and left me to solitude.

Parsa had never been fond of Danial and Kia, so he was quite pleased that I had stopped spending time with them. In fact, he was rather happy with the fact that I had been sticking close to him day and night.

Despite my best efforts, Yousef proved to be more persistent than I had anticipated. I was unaware that he had devised a plan even more insidious; if I had been aware of it beforehand, I might have prevented the situation before it escalated too far.

If only I had known...

...

My heart dropped in fear as I stared at the screenshots taken from my friends' Instagram accounts—photos capturing moments from the past before I had moved away. One snapshot was from a pool party that Sally posted last summer, with Liam and I locked in a kiss in the background. The second picture, shared by Liam's sister, featured a celebration for Liam's birthday, where I was kissing him on the cheek. The last one portrayed a night out at a gay bar, where I had joined Liam and some of his friends using fake IDs; the image had been uploaded by one of the guys who had come with us.
