Zach fixes his hair in front of the mirror. He pauses. His eyes are dusted with a light layer of shimmer. His eyelashes appear longer with the mascara he put on. His somewhat dark circles are covered with a light layer of concealer.
He turns his head to the side. His face is shaved, eyebrows plucked to perfection. His earrings dangle with each of his movements. His lips have a thin layer of lip gloss.
He steps away to look at himself in the full-length mirror. High-waisted loose jeans with an emerald shirt. He settles on wearing Nike Air.
Zach is about to wipe his face of all the makeup he put on when he heard the doorbell.
His heart starts racing. His hands shake. Maybe he should change his entire outfit. Does green even look good on him? Would Jack think he looks stupid wearing that much makeup? His hair looks stupid. Maybe he should shave it all off -"
The doorbell rings again.
Zach decides to just accept the embarrassment he is about to go through. As he approaches the door, he thinks of countries he could flee to after Jack makes fun of him.
He painstakingly opens the door and closes his eyes shut. Just ready for impact.
"Oh, C'mon, I don't think I am that ugly." Jack chuckles.
Zach opens his eyes. Jack looked... good. He has shorter curls, glasses, a barely buttoned shirt, and jeans. Yeah, definitely into Jack. He had a small flower in his hand.
"You clean up nice." Jack comments. He holds up the flower. It was a peony. His favourite.
"F-For me?" He questions hesitantly.
Jack chuckles. "You're so nervous; it's adorable. Yes, of course. Didn't I tell you I was taking you on the best date ever?"
Zach smiles."Thanks." Their hands graze when he grabs the flower. "I-I'm gonna put this in a vase. Do you wanna come in while I find a vase?"
Jack signs him to lead the way.
"Don't mind the mess." He warns him as he walks in.
The curly head chuckles as he takes in his house. It had several pictures of him and his siblings. He smells the air. It smells so nice. He walks into the neat kitchen. Zach had already set the flower on a vase.
He hands him a tupperware. Jack takes it, a confused expression on his face.
"I made slutty brownies." He explains. "For you."
Jack smiles. Gosh, his smile is so pretty. "I'll save these for dessert." He holds onto the tupperware."Let's go."
They walk out to the front porch, and Zach locks the door. "Where are we going?"
"We're eating something, and then we are going to a really cool place." He unlocks the car.
"You didn't answer my question."He playfully rolls his eyes. Jack opens the door for him to get in. "And I can open my own door."
"It's a date, I'm supposed to treat you well." He reminds him as Zach enters the car. Jack closes the door and enters on the driver's seat. "Besides, if I told you where we are going, it would ruin all the fun." He smiles. "Seatbelt."
Zach complies and off they go.
"But if you told me where we're going, I'd be really excited." He tries convincing him.
Jack shakes his head as he goes faster. "I'm not telling you, dude." He grabs his phone. "Choose something."
Zach hesitates. "I don't think you'll like the music I listen to. Maybe it's best if I turn the radio on." He goes to turn it on, but Jack stops him.
