Jack rings on his doorbell. He takes a deep breath as he makes sure the peonies sit prettily on the small bouquet he bought him. He looks at himself. Navy blue slacks a white t-shirt and a sage green corduroy jacket with his sleeves rolled up. He was wearing white sneakers.
Zach opens the door with a cute yet nervous smile. Jack takes him in. Black slacks, a white dress shirt that was carefully tucked in, and white sneakers..
"Hey," Zach greets. Now that Jack notices, he's wearing the glittery eyeshadow.
"You look pretty." Jack comments as he looks at him dazed.
"You too." He replies shyly.
The curly head hands him the small bouquet. "Here."
"F-For me?" He questions as he hesitantly stretches his hands out.
Jack nods as he hands him the bouquet. He thanks him quietly, and an awkward silence settled between them.
"Are you feeling like things are awkward between us? Or is it just me?" Zach comments.
Jack chuckles. "I think we're just feeling nervous. I know I am." He admits. "But, here, hold this." He presses a kiss onto his lips.
Zach tries to bite back a smile, but to no avail. "I'll hold onto it."
"Great." He smiles. "Let's go?" He stretches his hand.
"I'll just put this in a jar, gimme a sec." With that, he heads inside and quickly finds a vase.
Zach checks himself out one last time. He checks whether his mascara looks good and swipes a layer of lipgloss on his lips.
"You look amazing. There is no need to check yourself out. I can do that for you." Jack comments from the threshold.
Zach feels his cheeks turn red.
Jack approaches him and stretches out his hand for him to take. He guides him to his car and opens the door for him.
He thanks him as he enters it. Jack brought his mom's car. It was spotless, and it smelled nicely. One could argue that -
"Are you trying to impress me?" Zach questions as Jack buckles up.
Jack pauses. "Am I not supposed to?"
"You don't have to. I like your car with your broken radio." He admits.
He smiles. "Ava's using it. So, this is all we got." He starts the car. "And, yes, I cleaned all the seats." He reassures him.
Zach chuckles as Jack drives them to their destination.
"Where are we going?"
"It'll ruin all the fun if I tell you." He smiles softly.
Zach playfully rolls his eyes. "Just tell me, I promise I'll act really surprised when we get there."
Jack chuckles. "Nice try." He moves to rest a hand in his thigh. Zach tenses almost immediately. Jack lifts his hand. "Sorry, I should've asked -"
Zach sets his hand back on his thigh. "I-I'm just not used to being touched like this." He admits as he looks away. "Keep it there."
"If you want to, I can -"
"Keep it." He reassures.
Jack nods. Right. If he was never kissed, then he was definitely a virgin, too.
The curly head drives them around for a while longer, without any destination. Once a timer goes off in his phone, he changes directions.
"Why did that timer go off?"
