Jack steps out of his car and locks it as soon as he's out of it. He fixes his hair and heads inside the bar.
He takes off his jacket as he enters and immediately goes to the same booth he heads into once every month.
Three men suddenly perk up and greet him excitedly.
"Jack!" Jonah calls him excitedly as they greet each other with a quick handshake.
"My guy!" Corbyn opens his arms.
"My brother!" He greets Daniel with a bro hug.
He smiles widely. "What's up?" He sits down next to Daniel. "How's life?"
They sign Jonah to start. The tall brunet clears his throat. "I finally started dating the museum curator." He confesses excitedly.
They all give him a high five.
"And!" Jonah lifts a finger. "She's staying over on Friday."
"Oh, someone's getting lucky." Corbyn nudges him.
"We'll see, we'll see." He chuckles as he orders 4 beers.
They all look at Corbyn, expectantly.
He smirks. "Guess who got a promotion?"
"At the firm?" Daniel questions in shock. "You just started working there!" He nudges him.
"Yeah, and I'm great at it. Your point?" He nudges him back as the beers are set on the table.
"Dani, your turn."
The blond clears his throat. "Fran and I broke up." His voice is quiet.
Jack rests a hand on his shoulder. "You alright, man?"
He nods. "It was bound to happen. She wanted to move and I wanted to stay. Neither of us wanted to do long distance... it's whatever. " He shrugs as he grabs his beer and drinks it. "It's not like we spent like four years together or anything."
Jack comforts him. "It's okay, you'll find someone good for you." He reassures.
"Yeah, right." He scoffs."Everyone wants to leave this town, but I want to stay. I can't find anyone who'd wanna spend the rest of their lives here." He sighs.
"I'll keep ya company." Jack chuckles. "I don't wanna leave this place either. I can get awesome discounts at the stores if I'm nice to the ladies."
They all chuckle. This is why Jack loves hanging out with them. Even if they had a tough month, he's always there to cheer them up when they need it.
Their food is served, and they immediately dig in.
"And you Jack?"
The curly raises his eyebrows. He's had a crazy month now that he thinks about it. "I broke up with Sierra because she was giving Isla chocolate bars with nuts -"
"What!?" Daniel squeaks. "I don't even eat nuts because of Isla, dude!"
"Ava and Zach practically made me break up with her. My mom got me a date with a girl, who called me an idiot and then we -"
"Who's Zach?" Corbyn questions with a mouthful.
"Oh, he's a friend of mine." He replies quietly."He went to our high school." He shrugs. "He usually spends the night at the café to study and work on his projects."
"The whole night?"
Jack nods. "He's pretty cool." He confesses.
"Bro is a vampire." Daniel mocks.
