Jack wakes up a bit earlier than usual as the excitement of the day has already gotten to him. He sits up quietly so as not to wake his lover up. He knows how much of a light sleeper he truly is.
He heard Zach groan. "Where are you going?" He mumbles.
"I was gonna go to the bathroom and pick out our clothes for today. I don't feel like sleeping anymore." He kisses his forehead. "How's your head?"
"Haven't had any complaints." He deadpans, giggling afterwards. "I'm all good." Zach reassures.
"Do you wanna sleep a bit more, beautiful?"
"I wanna lay down for a bit longer." He nuzzles his head on Jack's pillow and hums. "It smells so nice."
Jack pecks him and gets up. "I'll be right back."
"Don't take too long, I'll miss you." He whines.
"I won't, I promise." He chuckles and heads out. From there, he rushes into the bathroom to do his business. Zach can't stay alone with the ring. If he finds out, there goes the romantic place to propose.
Jack rushes into the bedroom and takes a deep breath before getting in. He goes in and can hear his lover sit up in bed, fully awake."Hey there, pretty."He smiles and kisses his head.
"Jack, my hair is a mess, and I haven't even washed my face." He pouts
"The most beautiful man I've ever seen." He pecks him and starts choosing their clothes.
You see, after they moved in together and to not raise any suspicions, Jack has started picking out their outfits. He chooses jeans for both and hums, indecisive.
"Maybe some tank tops and a shirt over them?"He suggests."It gets pretty hot, but sunburns are way worse." He then perks up. "We should totally buy cowboy hats, too."
Jack chuckles. "Sure thing, baby." He sets the clothes on the bed for them to put on. Then, not so innocently, he adds. "I think the pearl necklace would look so cute here."
"You think?" He questions. "Oh, but I don't know if the pearl earrings you got me look good here." Zach pouts.
"You can wear whatever you want, beautiful." He climbs onto the bed to kiss him. "You don't have to wear the earrings with the pearl necklace if you don't want to." He reassures.
He groans. "Stop being so cute all the time." He crosses his arms. "It makes me love you even more."

Jack had the ring box in his mother's purse, sweaty hands, and was holding Zach's hand. Said man was practically jumping with excitement as he looked at everything. He dragged Jack to a stand and put a cowboy hat on his head.
"Looks good." He nods. "Lemme try it."
He goes to get his hat, and the vendor speaks. "We have a saying: wear the hat, ride the cowboy. So, unless you two are getting it on, I suggest not doin' it." He chuckles.
"Well, in that case." Zach promptly grabs his hat and puts it on his head as he chuckles. "How much for two?"
The man laughs harder. "I'll make it twenty for your humour."
Zach takes out a twenty. "Pleasure doing business with you." He giggles. "Now, if you excuse me, I got a cowboy to ride."
The two walk away laughing as Jack wraps his arm around him. With each passing moment with him, he's even more sure. "We should totally role-play as if we're in brokeback mountain." Jack suggests, laughing harder than ever as he says this.
People look at them as if they're insane, but at that moment, they didn't care. Jack adored the way he laughs, how delightful it is to hear such a joyful sound coming from him.
