*a year later*
Jack parks the car in front of a suburban house. A woman was waiting for them on the porch. "And here we are."
"Seatbelts off, honeys." Zach smiles. They open the doors for the twins, and Jack locks the car.
Zach looks around. It was an eggshell white with a wooden details house with a nice driveway and a big garage. "The outside looks nice." He comments. "You always pick pretty places for us."
"A pretty person like you deserves a pretty house." He smiles.
The four step into the porch. Jack greets the realtor with a firm handshake. "Jack Avery, we spoke on the phone. I brought my husband and our kids to check out this place."
"Grace Ferreira, it's a pleasure to associate the voice with the face." She shakes both their hands and crouches to shake the twin's hands. "And you guys are?"
Andrew hides behind Jane, who holds onto Zachs hand a bit more tightly. "I'm Jane, and this Aj. We're twins."
She chuckles. "How cute." The woman takes out two lollipops from her pocket. "Pleasure to meet you."
They look up, waiting for their parents' approval. "You can take them if you want to. Miss Ferreira won't be mad if you say no." Zach reassures.
"No, thank you." Andrew refuses.
"No, thank you." Jane refuses as well. "But I can give you a high-five so you don't feel sad." She lifts her hand.
They are high-five, and the woman stands upright. "Let's have a look around, shall we?"
They nod and walk in. Andrew holds Jane's hand, and they follow the adults.
Zach and Jack talk quietly as they inspect the house, checking for any flaws and conversing with the realtor.
Aj squeezes Jane's hand and starts signing to her. This house is pretty. I like it.
She replies back: I hope they pick this one, we can play hide and seek better in this one.
He chuckles: Aren't you scared of getting lost? this house is very big.
She shakes her head and answers: dad will find us either way.
"What are you two little goofs signing about?" Jack rests his hands on his hips.
"Honey, come look at this." Zach calls from another room.
Jack complies with the twins following closely. He smiles softly. It would make a great room.
"You have four bedrooms, a little room that could definitely be converted into an office or something. A nice backyard for them to play in. The kitchen is spacious, and the living room has a nice view of the backyard."
Jane furrows her eyebrows and turns to Aj. She starts signing: four bedrooms? are dad and dad sleeping alone?
He shakes his head and signs back: it's one for them and one for me and one for you.
"And the extra bedroom?" She asks outloud, covering her mouth afterwards.
The couple shares a look. "We'll tell you when we get home, alright?" Jack smiles softly.
They nod.
"How much would it be per month?" Zach questions.
"Around a thousand per month for fifteen years." Jack answers for her. "It's feasible, I've done the math."
"Even with the other papers?"
He nods. "I checked with Corbyn."
"Should I leave you to discuss alone?"
