Jack closes the door to his mother's bedroom. All she needed was some rest. He enters his room and closes the door behind himself.
He leans on it as his mind wanders to Zach. He smiles like a fool.
"Woah, nice date with Zach, huh?"Ava teases from his bed.
Jack practically jumps when he hears her. He rests one hand over this chest and looks at her pointedly. "It wasn't a date." He mumbles. "I think?"
Ava raises an eyebrow. "Give me all the deets!"
The curly head shrugs as he leans away from the door. "It was nothing special." Jack checks his phone. It had a text from Zach. it read: how's your mom? Jack answers back with a: she's resting, but she's fine.
"Is that why you're smiling at your phone?" She raises an eyebrow.
"He's asking about mom. I just thought it was nice of him."
Ava crosses her arms.
"Just that?"
Jack rolls his eyes and goes to grab some clothes from his closet to sleep in. "What do you want to know, Ava?"
"Let's start with... what did you eat?"
"Lasagna made by him. It was better than the one we had in Italy." He hums. "Some of his brownies and that dessert I made with Syd."
"And then?"
"We watched a movie." He avoids biting his lip as the recent memory plays in his head.
"What movie?"
"A shitty hallmark movie."
"What was it about?"
Jack looks at her. "Why do you care so much about this?"
"There's a suspicious stain on your pants. Obviously, something went down between you two."
Jack looks at his grey sweatpants and feels his cheeks warming up. "T-There's nothing there." He stuttered nervously.
Ava smirks. "There's not." She confirms."But that reaction just confirmed that something actually went down. So spill it."
Jack groans at his stupidity. He covers his face. "We might've kissed."
Silence settles in the room.
His heart fastens. The curly head looks at her. Ava was smiling widely. "Does that mean he'll become like part of our family?"
Jack groans yet again as he hides his face. "I'm gonna shower."
"Oh, a shower before bed? Something definitely went down." She teases.
The curly head, done with her teasing, crosses his arms and says: "Yeah, me on him. Do you want details about that too?"
Ava blinks. "N-No, thank you."
"Great." He rushes into the bathroom and closes the door. His heart beats out of its cage at the mere prospect of what he just said.
Now that he thinks about it, he knows next to nothing about having sex with a man. Just that he wants it with Zach. He looks at himself in the mirror. His face is red due to his own thoughts.
Jack undressed and takes a nice, cold shower to rid himself of these thoughts. Once he steps out of the bathroom, Ava is no longer in his bedroom.
He lays down, and a smile forms on his face. Jack grabs his phone. It's midnight. Zachs is definitely still awake. He dials his number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Jack... would you mind if I swung by?"
"If it's to tell me that what happened was a mistake, there's no need. I know it was." His voice is quiet.
