Reese's Pov
Caitlin left with Monika and Gabbie to go get dinner so I was stuck walking alone home. But it just started rain and by raining I mean pouring like crazy. I decided to just walk home now because it doesn't seem to lightening up anytime soon and I don't want to worry Emma. When I'm walking with my bag over my head I hear a car horn and someone yelling.
"Reese what the hell are you doing?" As I turn around I'm met with Kate Martin sitting in her car with the window down. I reply back saying "I'm walking home Kate" "Get in the car Reese" "I'm fine Kate" I say back not wanting to be a bother. "Reese get in the car now" she says back with more power behind her words. I turn and walk up to her car giving in.
I lay my head on the window shivering slightly since my clothes are drenched from the rain. To be honest I'm embarrassed that I'm that I'm sitting in my new teammates car, drenched while shivering. Next thing I know a hoodie is put over my lap and the heat is cranked up. I look up to see one of Kate's basketball hoodies laid over me.
"Can you please tell me why you were walking home in the middle of a rain storm?" Kate says to me while trying to meet my eyes. I'm still looking down picking at my nails, while I begin to say, "uh.. Cait.. she was getting dinner with Gabbie and Monika and we walked to practice because I was feeling nervous about my first practice and I wanted to talk to Caitlin to calm myself down but my car isn't here yet because my parents took it back home with them and I didn't want to bother the girls so I just decided to walk and I didn't want to worry Emma and uh yeah" I ramble.
"Reese, Reese look at me" Kate says softy. I continue to look down worried that I might of annoyed Kate or caused her trouble. "Reese, baby, look at me please" she says while gently lifting my head with her hand under my chin. "I'm sorry" I say while meeting her eyes. But I'm met with her looking at me with affection and care in her eyes. "It's okay Reese, you didn't do anything honey." She says before continuing to say, "I'm taking you to my apartment, it's closer than yours and you need a change of clothes and a shower."
