Intimate Moments

Reese's Pov:

Our first game is on Friday night and it's Thursday. I am super nervous for the first game of my college career. With me going to a small college in Des Moines for my freshman year, I didn't get the chance to play last year. Even though I did not play professionally last year I made sure to play as often as I could to improve and get ready for this year. Being able to play with Caitlin again is super exciting. On the court we have a special connection, where our passes are crisp, our shooting is on point, and we always keep each other grounded. 

I'm currently sitting in my apartment studying film of Iowa State. With us playing our rivals on opening night, it's a super important game. While watching I notice a certain player that catches my eye. Brooke Williams, my ex-best friend who in high school became my "enemy". But really she was the one who hated me after I took her starting position junior year when our coach was sick of her fowl attitude and lack of control on the court. Coach took her off the starting roster due to this and let's just say we didn't run to each other at graduation. 

When I look her stats up I notice the number of techs and ejections she had gotten last year. Seems like she hasn't changed much. After our little incident in high school I'm honestly a little afraid of how she will play now that we are against each other. But I know my teammates will have my back if anything happens. I zone back in when I hear the door open and I'm met with Emma walking in. "Hey Em" "Hey Reeses, whatcha doing?" "Watching film for the game tomorrow" "You nervous?" "Definitely" "You're gonna do great Ree plus you gave Caitlin and Kate along with all the other girls by your side." "You're right, I got to get to my shoot around, love you." "Love you too Ree."

I walk into to the gym and I must be the first one here. I put on my shoes and grab a basketball, I start by shooting some warm up shots and then I go to threes, hitting them like crazy. I turn around when I hear someone say "Go baby, you hit those." I smile at the voice I recognize as Kate's voice. "Thank you K" "Your welcome baby, wanna 1v1?" "Oh you're on Martin" I start with the ball and do a crossover, between the legs then drive to the basket for the layup, and it falls. After we continue to go back and forth, Kate ends up on top. But I end up on top of her, no literally I tripped and she tried to catch me up we ended up on the court. I'm sitting there straddling Kate, we are holding intense eye contact. She brings her hand up pushing a strand hair behind my ear. "Hi baby" "Hi K" I say back breathlessly. I really want to kiss her right now, the way her eyes are such a bright blue. Fuck it. As I began to lean down and she grabs the back of my neck gently. I put my hand on the her cheek. As our lips meet, fireworks go off in my stomach and in other places. It's a gentle but intimate kiss, we are kissing as if we would wake up from this dream. It is one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt.

We quickly get up when we hear the gym doors open and our teammates talking in the distance. Kate grabs my hand squeezes it as a way of telling me she liked the kiss. I smile back at her as my way of telling her the same. I hear Jada and Gabbie talking about a live they want to do after practice. I walk up to Caitlin knowing I need to bring up Brooke. "Hey Caitlin, do you remember Brooke from high school?" "Yea, she was the one that was pissed when you took her starting position?" "Yup that's the one, well turns out she plays for Iowa State and I'm a little worried about how she will play against me tomorrow." "I'm sure that it will be okay but if something happens we have your back Reese." "I know."

A/N: They kissed!!! I'm not sure if I put the kiss to soon but I liked the chapter overall. Sorry for the delay in an update.
