Reese's Pov:

I can't believe it. I'm back, I'm fucking back. After all this hard work. The weeks of physical therapy, continuously months of normal therapy, never ending training and exercises. I can't wait to be back on the court, the adrenaline rushing through my veins. After the long 9 months of waiting and recovering. Doubting my position on this team, my worth, my future as a player. I can thank Kate, my wonderful girlfriend and support system. Caitlin, my best friend and sister. Gabbie and Jada, some of my closest friends. My coaches who have encouraged me to move forward. My parents and brothers who have supported even from a distance. My other teammates who have made me laugh when I wanted to cry. Even other players on different teams well one player.

Our first game is a home game against UConn. A tough competition, skilled offensive: 3 shooters, excellent post work, jumpers, layups, floaters, a little bit of everything. Remarkable defense that makes you trip over yourself. We have been told the stadium is sold out, every single seat sold to fans of Women's Basketball. I know that this is a super important game, for both teams, the fans, but mainly Women's Basketball in general. Viewership has skyrocketed since both Caitlin of course and Paige Bueckers. Along with many others who have boosted the number of viewers.

It's a big year for Iowa. We have many seniors my friends Sharon Goodman and Molly Davis. Gabbie Marshall another sister to me. My wonderful girlfriend Kate Martin. And my record breaking sister Caitlin Clark. It's a lot of talent we are going to be loosing after this season but that's a while away. And something I definitely don't want to think about now.

Hours later

It feels good to be back in my jersey. Wearing the number 5 again. I've missed it. I've missed it a lot. The buzz of the fans in the sold out stadium. The court under my feet. The ball in my hand. During the pregame shoot around my shots were not falling at all. It's safe to say my confidence has dissipated immensely and I know my girlfriend can tell. She has been walking up to me patting me on the back, encouraging but private touches to keep our relationship probate for now.

A/n: I know it's super short and not proof read but I'm super tired. Sorry guys.
