Healing Her: Kate Martin

Reese's Pov:

When I wake up I see Kate kneeling next to me. She says softly "Hi baby, it's okay, you're safe" "K-Kate I-I can't." I say back while still breathing heavy and shaking. "I know, I know, can I touch you?" All I can do is nod back. Kate grabs my hand, gently running her nails up and down my arm before she says "Do you need me to call Caitlin or Emma?" "I d-don't want to bug them" "Ba.. Reese, you are not a burden, but if you don't want me to call them then I won't." 

It's been a couple of minutes and Kate keeps checking up on me and she has continued to run her nails on my arm. "Do you want to go shower and change now?" Kate asks. "Yeah, I'm still kinda cold and wet." "Well I have a hoodie and a pair of shorts in there with a towel, I'll just be in here if you need anything, I'm gonna go make some food for dinner but I'll keep my ears open." "Okay, thank you Kate" "You're welcome Ree"

Kate's Pov: 

Reese is now in the shower and I'm making some pasta, something simple but comforting. She really worried me earlier and as much as I wanted to ask her about the nightmare I knew that it wouldn't have been best. If she wants to tell me then she will. I just hope that she is feeling a little better. I look up when I hear my phone go off from a text message. 

Unknown Number

Hey Kate, this is Emma, Reese's roommate

do you know where Reese is she hasn't 

shown up yet and I'm starting to get worried.

Changed "Unknown Number" to Emma

Hey Emma, Reese is okay and safe,

 she's is at Caitlin and I's apartment,

I found her walking home in the rain 

and brought her back to change in to 

dry clothes. 

Okay good, thank you for looking out 

for her, tell her to take her time. 

I will.

I put my phone back down and stir the pasta, it's sweet how much Emma and Reese care about each other, it reminds me of Cait and I. I walk back into my room to check on Reese and turn on the tv to watch a show, I want her to feel as comfortable as possible. I put some extra blankets on the bed and head back to the kitchen to grab us both a bowl of pasta. Just as I set the bowls down Reese walks out of my bathroom.

"Where do you want me to put my dirty clothes?" Reese says while finishing drying her hair off. "Uh you can just leave them in there for now, I made some pasta and set up my bed so we could watch a show if you want too, to you know get your mind off things." I reply scratching the back of my neck nervously. "Yeah that sounds good" she replies while smiling at me. Holy crap she looks so pretty with her hair wet and that smile, gosh.

It around 6pm now we have finished our food and are now watching a hallmark movie since it was like the only thing that was good on. Reese looks like she's trying not to fall asleep. "Reese, baby, are you sleepy?" I ask in a slight teasing tone. "Noooo" she says in a sleepy sarcastic voice. "You can fall asleep, it's okay, I've already texted Emma she knows you're okay." I say. She replies saying "Fine, but can you hold me K, it's hard for me to fall asleep in new places." "Sure baby, come here." I say while opening my arms. 

A/N: I feel like I'm moving the relationship between Kate and Reese a little too quick but what do y'all think? Should I slow it down or keep it around how it is?
