Reese's Pov:
Today is the day of Kate and I's date. And I am so excited. Jada and Gabbie are coming over later to help me get ready. But that's a couple of hours away. Emma and I are watching a movie together as a way to keep me calm. Kate wouldn't tell me anything about where we are going, all she would give me is to wear something that is pretty warm and comfortable. I have been wracking my brain with ideas of where she is taking me. A movie, a walk in the park, dinner, but honestly as long as I am with her I will be happy.
Kate's Pov:
Monika and Caitlin offered to help me set up for our date. I wanted to do a little picnic under the stars with all her favorite foods. I made sure to pack plenty of blankets and pillows. I asked Caitlin if I could drive her car to pick Reese up because I wanted to set up a little pallet in the bed of my truck that we can lay in and look up at the stars. I decided to wear some baggy jeans with a graphic t-shirt and a flannel on top. I have no idea what Reese will be wearing but she looks good in anything.
It's finally time for me to go pick up Reese from her apartment. As I'm driving there I'm tapping my hands nervously on the steering wheel. I park the car and grab the flowers I got for her. Knocking on the door I sway back and forth. When the door opens I am greeted by Emma before she leans closer to me and says "Take care of my girl aright Martin." "Yes ma'am." As I finish saying that I look up to see Reese walking up behind Emma. She looks stunning. Slightly faded jeans with a black crop top and white converses. Simple but beautiful. "Wow you look beautiful baby." I say while pulling her into a hug kissing the crown of her head. "Thanks Katie you don't look to bad yourself."
As we are pulling up I tell Reese to close her eyes for the surprise. I help her out of the car and walk her up the my truck bed. "And open." "Katie! Oh my gosh this looks so cute." I smile at her excitement and hug her back. We have been eating and talking about random things. This feels so comfortable, peaceful, perfect. I notice Reese is shivering slightly as the wind starts to blow harder. I grab the hoodie I up back here knowing this would happen. I hand her the hoodie and after she puts it on I pull her into me. She lays her head on my chest while I pull the blankets over us.
We just lay in each other's company while looking at the stars. "Hey baby?" "Yea Katie?" She says while sitting up a little. "I really like you Reese and I want to be here for you through the hard times and the fun times. I love hanging out with you and I knew from the first time I saw you I loved you. So, Reese Grace Clark will you be my girlfriend?" I saw while looking into her eyes. She begins to smile while nodding her head cutely. "Yes! Yes I would love to be your girlfriend Katie." I just smile at her before grabbing her face with both my hands bringing her into a sweet, gentle kiss.
