Reese's Pov:
I am being released out of the hospital, with a big chunky brace on my knee. I'm walking with clutches with Caitlin. Ready to finally be back home in my bed. Many of the girls have texted me offering their help in anyway they can along with kind, encouraging words. Emma is going to be out of town for at least 2 more weeks. Due to this a couple of the girls are going to be staying with me at times until she gets back since I can't really do anything on my own yet. Caitlin is staying with me tonight. Once I'm discharged and we get out of the hospital I'm faced with flashes from photographers and paparazzi. I'm not used to being around this environment yet. So it's safe to say my anxiety and stress levels skyrocketed.
Caitlin takes the hat off her head and puts it on mine then pulls my hoodie up. Normally Caitlin would have some type of security with her but of course not today. I mean you would think you would be okay when being released from the hospital but I guess not. We turn and walk back inside trying to figure out what to do. Cait grabs her phone and calls someone who I figure is one of her security people. "You okay Ree?" "Yea I'm just afraid someone will hit my knee." "I know I've got backup coming to make sure you're all good." "Thank you C" "Always Honey". We have been just waiting in the lobby for around 10 minutes when Caitlin looks at her phone and then says "They're here." "What do I do?" "I'm gonna walk in front of you and they will walk with you, I'm gonna go pull the car up." "Okay."
Caitlin jogs back in with someone following behind her. I look up and am met with Kate looking back at the doors. "Okay the car is parked right up front." Caitlin says while grabbing my crutches from me. "Wait what are you doing I need those." I say in confusion since I can barely walk even with them. "I'm carrying you." Kate says while meeting my eyes. "It will be quicker and safer for your knee." She continues. I try to tell her I will be too heavy but she insists. She gently picks me up where she's holding me bridal style but by my upper thighs instead of my knees. "Ready baby?" "I think so."
Caitlin walks in front of us as the doors open. My ears are flooded with cameras clicking and voices. "Reese do you have anything to say about your injury?" , "Is your career over Reese?" , "Caitlin can you speak on how this will impact the team?" Those are just some of the many voices I hear all around me. I hear Caitlin in front of me saying "Excuse me" or "Sorry" while pushing through the crowd of people. But the main voice I can hear is Kate's, whispering in my ear saying things like "Don't listen to them baby." Or "I got you it's okay."
When we finally get into the car Kate sets me down in passenger seat before getting into the back seat while Caitlin gets to the drivers side and makes sure to lock the door. I can still see the flashing lights and with my concussion still there I put my hand over my eyes. All I need is my head getting worse. When we finally escape from the madness and are on the road I drop my hand and lay my head back breathing a breath of fresh air. Taking a second to calm down from the chaos that we just walked through.
A/N: If y'all have any ideas for the story please share them with me I am having a slight writers block.
