Healing Her: Kate Martin

What the hell?

Kate's Pov: 

I'm still watching the random hallmark movie trying to distract myself from the fact that my new teammate and best friends little sister is laying on my chest, sleeping. Her breathing is steady now and she looks so peaceful. But to be honest I'm on high alert incase she has another nightmare or wakes up. All I can think about is how Caitlin will react to her baby sister she's super protective of and her best friend and roommate laying in bed together after meeting her just a few days ago. 

I want to make sure that this doesn't make Reese uncomfortable in the future but she did ask me so I think we will be okay. Reese starts to stir about so I run my hands through her hair to calm her back down. We've been lying down for like 2 hours so I know that Cait is bound to be back soon. I really hope that she will be able to understand the situation and know I only wanted Reese to be safe. Just as I finish thinking about it I hear keys clanking and the front door opening. 

Caitlin's Pov: 

Monika, Gabbie, and I had went to Chipotle for dinner. I grabbed Kate's meal that she always orders for her since she said she was headed straight home after practice. As I pull in to our apartment complex I text Reese saying that she did super great in practice today and that I love her. But the weird part is she didn't respond, normally she would respond almost immediately but maybe she is working on unpacking or taking a nap. 

I unlock the door and walk into the apartment expecting to be met with Kate either on the couch or her door open. She must be in her room but her door being closed is not common. I walk over and knock on her door before saying "Hey Kate, can I come in? I come bearing food." It takes her a little bit to respond before she says yes but quietly. As I open the door I am met with a girl laying on Kate's chest fast asleep.

But then it clicks, that is Reese, my baby sister, laying on Kate, my best friend. "What the hell is Reese doing here Kate?" I say slighting caught off guard. "Cait, it's not what it looks like, let me explain." She replies calmly but also quietly so she doesn't wake up. "Will you please explain it to me because it looks like you did something with my little sister." 

"I found Reese after practice walking home in the rain. I didn't want her to get sick so I told her to get in my car and I ended up just driving her here. Since it was closer and she was shivering but when we got here she ended up falling asleep in the car. I carried her in and laid her down on my bed then went to grab her some clothes and a towel. But I heard her moving her around in her sleep so I gently woke her up without touching her. Because I remember you saying she didn't like unexpected touch. And then I calmed her down and she went to go shower and I made us some pasta. Then we eat our food and watched a random hallmark movie but she was getting sleepy and I told her to go to sleep. But then she asked me to hold her so she could sleep easier. I swear Caitlin we did not do anything I wouldn't do that to you without having your permission." Kate says while running her hands through Reese's hair making sure to keep her asleep.
