"Are we all set?" Zee asks
"If you forget anything, you are on your own oh, I don't want to come back here, so help us God" She finishes and I smile at the prayer
Nobody let me do anything, they packed everything for me and arranged everywhere. It even took a whole lot of convincing before Zee let me dress myself.
"I don't know why you insisted on shorts, a gown would have been nice as it's easy to put on" She commented as I brought out the clothes I was going to change into
"I prefer it, besides it's free" I tell her"
"Let me help you hold the shorts as you wear them"
"Zee, I'm fine"
"I know, I just-
"AY!! come carry your wife please"
"I just want to help"
"Babe, come let's give her some space okay"
"But I just want to help, you know she's not meant to strain herself"
"I know" he agrees but still carries her out. Thank you, Lord.
I sigh. It seemed I may have given her PTSD, not just her but all three of them but I think hers is worse because as soon as I mentioned going to change in the bathroom they all shouted a big fat no. Then tried to cover it up by saying they could easily wait outside for me to change. Zainab, however, would not even let me change alone. I don't blame them at all, I would do the same if it were me.
"Are you done?" Ogo asks
"Almost, I'll let you know when I'm done stop yelling we're in the hospital" I smile. He is looking for signs of life. I have to set this straight.
"Come in, I'm done" They all stroll in.
"Sit" They look at me confused but I motion to the chair and they comply
I breathe out "First off, I want to apologise for giving you guys bathroom Ptsd - young lad - Ogochukwu let me finish. I want to apologise for the Ptsd I may have given you three. But I want you to please believe me this time when I say that it will not happen again or rather I will try my best for it not to happen again" I say
"How?" Ogo asks
"Oh ye of little faith" I say and AY smiles
"If we recommend a therapist will you go?" Zee tiptoes the proposal
"You know I don't like therapists" I sigh
"But?"
"but I will try my best to see one, on the condition that someone accompanies me"
"that one is not an issue, your boyfriend is here" Ayo states
"He is not my boyfriend, I don't remember him asking me out or me accepting to be his girlfriend" I deadpan
"You need to step up your game bro" Zee teased Ogo and he laughed "it seems so"
"Also, please don't tiptoe around me, feel free to express your thoughts to me. I'm not broken glass"
"Okay then, Tamuno-Ala Brown, will you be my girlfriend?" he stands up from his seat.
"that is not what I mean" I tell him, my lips in a tight line.
"Okay, sorry, I love you" My expressions mirror tiredness
"Will you marry me then?"
"Ogochukwu!" I say his name like a signal to stop. But he continues still
