DAY 22

7;14 PM

"I cannot believe you brought me here to see The Nun... again!" I tell Ayo and his fiancée Zainab whose eyes were glued to the television like it was going to run away. I've watched The Nun countless times thanks to these two and frankly I am tired of the film, they however don't mind sucking the life out of the film every opportunity they get and I don't happen to be spared from their madness

"it's still scary no matter how many times we watch it" Zainab says, hiding her face behind a pillow. I just roll my eyes

"no it isn't, you both just have serious issues" I say frankly

"bad belle" Ayo retorts and I scoff and reply "is allowed"

They both laugh at my expense and I smile at them, I pray your union be as peaceful and as free as the air we breathe

"so baby girl" Ayo starts and I have a feeling I know where he is heading to

"how far our man na?" he smiles and uses his brows to do that weird up and down eyebrow dance but I feign ignorance "hmm, which man?"

He laughs and looks at me "the man that called you earlier today since you all of a sudden want to have selective amnesia"

"there's a man?" Zainab asks excitement ruling her features and I just shake my head "there is no man, your hubby just likes to play too much" I try to reset her features

"that is true but then not with this kind of thing" she defends

"which kind of thing?" I ask

"you having a man in your life, it's a big deal" she replies with all seriousness

"how is that a big deal, there is more to me than having a man by my side you know"

"I know that but considering the only friends you have is Ayo and I, we have to add even if it's a pet as an achievement for you, I mean how many contacts do you have on your phone, two! just two, and its Ayo and I" she explains

"what is wrong with having both your phone numbers, are you breaking up with me because of an imaginary guy?" I ask incredulously

"no we are not breaking up with you, however we are trying to make sure you have another hand to hold in case ours don't get to yours on time" Zainab says touching my head. i swat away her hand

"I can wait"

"enough with the sappy talk. Ala, the guy that called you earlier today who is he?" Ayo cuts in. why is he being so serious it's not like Ogochukwu is a bad person and why in shit am I defending that motherfucker ughh!

"he called you?! The fact that you gave him your number means he is really important to you" Zainab concludes, shaking my heads I just mutter women

"I didn't give him my number; I don't even know how he got my number in the first place" I clarify

"what is his name?" she asks too excited and its beginning to get on my nerve

"Ogochukwu" I answer curtly

"Ogochukwu? I'm guessing he is Igbo?" I nod in reply

"where did you two meet?" Ayo asks

"the restaurant I normally eat at"

"what does he do?"

"he is a retired soldier" they both look at me as if my head is falling off my shoulder

"and how old is he?" Ayo asks already folding his arms to give me the make good choices speech

"calm the fuck down, he is five years older than I am, I don't do sugar daddies although it is quite lucrative you know" Ayo smacks the back of my head a little
