Two weeks after being discharged

It's been two weeks since i was discharged from the hospital. A week since i have been home. After i was discharged, i stayed with Ayo and Zainab at their place, why? they wanted to care for me a little. It would have been longer if i didn't insist on leaving. They agreed on the condition that i would check in with them at least once in two days, also, my phone should be handy and not be on mute so they can check in on me. I complained that i wasn't a child but they begged me to bear with them for a while, but promised not to choke me with their check-ins.

The first two days i spent on my own were okay, after that it slowly became hell. I started eating out because i couldn't think straight whenever i picked up a knife to make food for myself. Whenever i slept at night i always had this recurring dream where i was found at my flat where i was sprawled on the ground with blood oozing out of my wrist. In the dream, i could see their heartbroken faces, especially Ogochukwu as he tries to stop the bleeding while Ay cuddles Zee. I could see how much i hurt him, i could see how much i hurt all of them.

I always wake up with a jolt, and I'll be covered in sweat. I noticed i don't have those dreams when i sleep during the day so i deviced a plan that i have used for 3 days and it seems to be working.

Go out at night and sleep during the day. It hasn't been easy as I am trying to alter my sleep schedule, plus I can't cheat nature.

I look around the restaurant that I'm at. Nothing too fancy, it has this cool native vibe that's eye-catching. The walls are adorned with vibrant art, intricate drawings, and traditional patterns. What's neat is they serve everything in calabash bowls instead of regular plates, which gives the whole dining experience this unique, authentic twist.

The lighting here is warm and cozy, creating a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. And there's this soothing music playing softly in the background, adding to the ambiance without being too overpowering.

It is a new spot that I found and the food is quite nice however, today there is nothing on their menu that I am interested in.

Scrolling through my phone I looked at the three contacts on my list and dialed Ogochukwu's number. He picked on the third ring

"Hello, to what do i owe this miraculous pleasure"

"stop teasing"

"I'm not, I believe this is the first time you've called me since we have known each other" I know he is telling the truth, so I skip the pleasantries and go straight to the point

"Are you home?" I ask

"Yes, why?"

"I'm coming over" I tell him

"Really?" he sounded confused

"Yes, please send your address, and also..."

"Also..."

"Can I trouble you for dinner? i don't mind cooking it, I'm just really hungry and I don't want to eat at home"

"mmm... sure, you know you are always welcome to my home anytime." he replies and it makes me smile

"Are you sure? because I'll move in if I find it comfortable" I try to tease and fail very miserably

"Do you need help packing? or don't worry, just come as you are" he teases back and I smile again. Gosh, I feel like a secondary school girl who is talking to her crush.

I was so in my head that I missed what he said

"Sorry, I didn't hear you"

"I said, would you like me to prepare anything, or should I wait till you come" he repeats
