CHAPTER THIRTY

Ayo's POV

We were done with dinner and decided to leave the new love birds with their mother alone. It seems Zee was thinking the same thing because she sent me a text saying 'We need to leave', quite blunt she can be, that one.

I looked at her and smiled in acknowledgement to her text before proceeding to get the others' attention

"Ogo, Tee baby, mama, thank you so much for having us, Zainab and I will be taking our leave now" i say getting up from the sofa Zee and I were seated on.

"Ah ah, so soon," his mum said and I laughed

"Yes mama, we need to rest seeing as she has an early start tomorrow," i tell her

"Ah, work, okay oh, i hope i get to see you before i go back"

"Ofcourse mama" Zee assures herm with a smile

She opens her arms for a hug which surprises us, but we go in for a hug anyway. "It was nice meeting you two" she says before releasing us

"Honestly, i came because i was worried about Ogochukwu, i know he is an adult and can take care of himself but he is also closed off and has no friends so i was really worried - she sighs - coming here and seeing that he has friends, and not just any kind but friends that he can tell to help him pick me from the airport, and also a girlfriend who he is eager and willing to have babies with - Zee and I chuckle at the shade she threw at Tee and Ogo - my heart is content and at peace, there is nothing more i want to ask for. Infact, i won't be staying long, i'll leave in three days, if you are not too busy, please come see the old lady off" She finishes and we laugh

"Sure, why not"

we say our goodbyes and see ourselves to the car, while inside and i start the car before asking Zainab why she was in a hurry to leave

"It's not like i'm in a hurry, i feel they need time to themselves. even if she didn't say it, i know his mum is a little worried about his relationship with Ala - i nod my head - so i felt the earlier they get it over with the better" she explains

"Will she be against the relationship? you know Tee is big on family blessings and approval" i ask a little concerned about everything

"I don't think she will, beside Ogo is a cautious person who knows what he wants, if he saw Ala as a ticking time bomb I'm sure he would not invest so much time, effort, and emotion into the relationship" 

"I just hope everything works out" i sigh 

"Also, our baby girl has big feelings for him so it should be okay" she adds with a big smile on her face

"I know she does, she just denies it," I say

"This time, i don't think she can anymore, i mean she did fantasize about jumping his bones," she says almost positively

"So, that was what it was! - I laughed realising I was right - I was so right" i say, proud of myself

"I'm surprised you took so long to figure it out, it has been so long since she showed such expression, but seeing it again, I feel my baby is coming back, she doesn't have to be all that she was, all i need her to be is here and better than the last two years" i hear her voice break

"Someone might think you gave birth to her" I tease

She laughs "Of course"

I take her hand in mine and kiss it "i love you, and i can't wait to get married to you" i whisper to the back of her hand

"It's two months away, I'm sure you can" she chuckles

"Wait oh, are you saying you are not in a hurry to have me as your husband?" i feign hurt

"You really should consider acting, I can hook you up" she laughs

"Are you saying i'm petty Zee?"

"Ayo" she warns and i raise my hand up in surrender

"Good boy, now focus on the road and get us home in one piece, i want to cuddle" she pecking me on the cheek

Ladies and gentlemen, if careful but speeding was a person, i was that person.
