FLASHBACK - 2022

It is 2022, and the much anticipated Miss Grand Thailand has finally begun.

Charlotte, was on the verge of bursting with excitement as she entered the room she was assigned to stay in until the competition was over. As she opened the door, she was met with a frowning face. A beautiful woman sat on a nearby chair, her expression stern. However, when she noticed Charlotte, her eyes seemed to spark with life. Her frown gradually shifted into a soft smile, revealing her cute dimples.

"Hi! I'm Charlotte. You must be my roommate." Charlotte beamed, taking a step inside.

Charlotte tilted her head to the side, a charming habit that always showed when she was puzzled or intrigued. Her eyes met the other woman's pair of orbs, curious as to why she was looking at her with such intensity.

"Is everything alright?", Charlotte asked, her voice soft and genuine. "Is there something wrong-um," Charlotte stopped, realizing she didn't know the other woman's name.

The woman smiled in response. "Engfa," she introduced herself, her smile widening upon seeing Charlotte's curious expression. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Charlotte."

Charlotte let out a lighthearted laugh at Engfa's formality. "You're too formal, just call me Char," she replied, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "I'm sure we'll get along great!"

Engfa smiled at Charlotte's infectious enthusiasm. "Char it is then."

The days leading up to the beauty pageant quickly passed. However, Charlotte couldn't help but notice Engfa's lack of appetite during meals. Worried but not wanting to intrude, she offered a friendly gesture instead.

"Engfa, you seem to have a small appetite lately. If you'd like, we can share my food. I have more than I need, and I'd love to share it with you." Charlotte offered with a genuine and warm smile.

Engfa froze, her cold exterior momentarily cracking. She hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by Charlotte's sweetness, her guarded nature instinctively resisting the gesture. But the sincerity in Charlotte's voice coupled with the warmth of her smile won her over, she found herself nodding, unable to refuse such a sweet and genuine offer.

Engfa couldn't help but smile, her cheeks burning with a rare blush.

"Mhm. Thank you, Char." Engfa finally responded, her stoic demeanor slipping further as she accepted Charlotte's offer.

Charlotte beamed, her heart swelling with joy at the sight of Engfa accepting her kind offer. She piled some of her food onto a new plate making sure to give Engfa a generous portion before passing it to her.

"Here you go. I hope you like it," Charlotte said with a gentle smile.

As they ate, Charlotte effortlessly filled the awkward silence with her playful banter and animated stories. Her laughter and infectious positivity drew Engfa out of her stoic shell. Despite her initial reluctance, Engfa found herself laughing along, the cold walls around her heart melting away with each shared moment.

"You know," Charlotte began, her voice soft and gentle, "If you ever have any worries or anything bothering you, you can talk to me about it. I'm here to listen."

Sharing food and laughter with Engfa wasn't just about providing nourishment; it was about breaking down barriers and forging a deeper connection between them.
