FIIIIIGHT!!!
*****
The next day, Engfa left for her meeting early in the morning. However, this time leaving with Faye. Before she left, Engfa had taken the time to leave a note for Charlotte.
The note was written in Engfa's neat handwriting, and it read:
"Char,
I had to leave early for an important meeting. I know you're still upset with me, but please don't try to escape again, princess. I promise I'll be back soon, and I have a surprise for you. Just behave yourself until I get back. I'll see you later.
-Engfa
Charlotte was left alone in the house, her thoughts swirling as she read the note from Engfa.
"Great," she mumbled aloud to herself. "Just great."
Charlotte sighed heavily and sunk down onto the couch, feeling a sense of helplessness.
A surprise, huh? She wondered what it could be.
But as she reread the note, the gravity of Engfa's warning sank in. "Don't try to escape again." Those words echoed in her mind.
.
Engfa and Faye arrived at the meeting place, flanked by several of their most trusted men. It was a secluded warehouse on the outskirts of town, far away from prying eyes, and a neutral location for the two groups to come together.
As they entered the building, Engfa's expression was stern and cold, while Faye's expression was unreadable as usual.
Stella, the leader of the rival mafia, was tall and imposing, with sharp features and a cold gaze. Her right-hand woman, Yoko, was a stark contrast to Stella's intimidating presence. She was petite and slim, but her sharp eyes showed danger.
Engfa and Faye sat across from them, their own expressions cool and collected.
Faye leaned forward, her icy gaze locked on Stella. Her voice was firm and direct.
"Let's cut to the chase," Faye said. "There's no point beating around the bush."
Stella smirked, her eyes narrowing slightly as she returned Faye's gaze.
"Agreed," she said, her tone nonchalant. "What do you want?"
Engfa spoke up next, her voice filled with authority.
"We know you've been trying to move in on our territory," Engfa said, her voice calm but firm.
"You've also been messing around with our shipments lately," she said, her eyes fixed on Stella. "We've received reports of disruptions and delays in our deliveries, and we know it's your doing."
Stella raised an eyebrow, her expression still nonchalant.
"And what proof do you have of that?" she said, her tone challenging.
Faye chuckled darkly, her smirk growing wider.
"We have ears everywhere," she said. "And eyes. We know it's you, Stella. Don't play coy with us."
Engfa's patience was beginning to wear thin. The smug expression on Stella's face was infuriating, and she had half a mind to reach across the table and knock that smirk off her face.
"Cut the games, Stella," Engfa said. "You know damn well you've been interfering with our shipments."
Engfa clenched her fists, the anger building up inside her. She was losing her temper.
